The Fight against Ebola

The fight against Ebola in West Africa in Guinea in December 2013. From There, It quickly spreads to Liberia
and Sierra Leone. Cases also appeared in Senegal and Nigeria, and there was another outbreak in the
Democratic Republic of the Congo. Today, Liberia is at the canter of the epidemic, with more than 3,000 cases
of infection. About half of them have been fatal.

This Documentary is about fighting Ebola even if it is in difficult situation. It was documented by Vice News
which they report the situation of West Africa, they said the Ebola was so hard to fight because the
government can’t provide all of the needs because of lack of funds or for some reason that’s why it spreads all
around the country and thousands of people died in this outbreak. Many people suffered even the Nurses,
Doctors and other Health personnel. So many failures have been done. People are crying for help.

Dissemination of sensitive information

This ethical issue is so brutal when it comes to the people Africa, based on my own theory by understanding
this issue is that if you public the information who was infected, the people that surrounding him will not be
there anymore because this Ebola is a communicable virus. Some people because of the panic they tend to kill
the infected people and dump that is why it is a win- lose situation when it comes to disseminating of sensitive
information.

No one deserves to die like that. However, you know it is hard to live in that situation.
The nurse who was interviewed said that “to save lives is the thing he always do, serves his country willingly”.
In addition, that he said, I felt happy because most of them even if it is in a difficult situation. They are willing
to give help with everything they have even if can make them die. In short, to die in this country.

Medical hospitals are full of ebola patients, they all have been quarantine and treat them but the problem is
the room which contain 5 people in 1 small room , It was crowded . Lack of funds , the journalist who
interviewed the nurses did not have the will to go inside the hospitals because it is dangerous .

The western Africa is one of the poorest country, what can you expect? I’m so lucky that here in the
Philippines there’s no Ebola or something like that but yeah prevention is one thing that we do in this kind of
situation.
