What is beauty?

Beauty has varied throughout time, various cultures and the vast different
perceptions of the world. Beauty has been defined in so many ways. What I
have discovered is that beauty is simple. It’s the images and moments that
inspires and represents the most distinct and remarkable attractiveness of our
souls. It’s the moments we feel free and real, proud and eminent. It’s the
moments we feel alive. As I think of the times I’ve been most beautiful and it
hasn’t been the nights my hair stayed intact, body dressed attractively, or skin
shined flawlessly. It’s been the moments I felt beauty because of happiness,
which was not derived from my appearance — at all. It’s in my feelings.

What is timeless beauty?

When we say timeless it means being so good or beautiful that it cannot

be affected by the passage of time or changes in fashion. A beautiful heart is
what makes beauty timeless. Time changes us as physically as internally, we do
not have the same appearance during our lifetime. Superficial beauty cannot
make deep impression, and those who aim to get beautiful face and perfect
body with the help of Botox injections and other wonders of surgery will hardly
get wide recognition and respect. Such a superficial beauty will not last forever.
People grow old and external features fade away. But a person with beautiful
soul shines brighter than beautiful face with emptiness inside. In such a way,
inner beauty of a person is much more important that we can keep it for the
whole life. And that’s what we call “timeless beauty”

What is your advocacy as a candidate for Miss MSU?

My advocacy is Gender Equality. This is very common and most of us want

this to happen but it seems so hard to achieve. When we say gender equality, it
is not telling women to be like men or to edge out men; it is telling men and
women to expand their social space so they can freely take on roles according
to their individual capacities, not on the basis of sex. As an ambassadress, I am
sending my heartfelt desire that through equality, this country will be a united
nation. What we should do to achieve that is to love our inequalities, forget our
political differences, set aside our academic and social preferences and let
love and equality for our country rise above so that we can march towards the
future in hopes of making a peaceful and progressive country.

What makes Miss MSU, timeless?

When we say timeless it means being not affected by the passage of time
or changes in fashion. Pageant traditions that exist before in the stage of Miss
MSU are still present up to now. Like being conservative and making people
realize that fashion isn’t only about showing too much skin. Through the years
Miss MSU didn’t fade and failed to produce a beautiful queen with a purpose.
And because of that, it remains to be the most prestigious pageant of the south.
Miss MSU always promotes the idea that every woman is smart, can do some sort
of frivolous talent, and, most importantly, beautiful. And that’s the reason why Miss
MSU remains to be a timeless work of art.

ASEAN INTEGRATION

The ASEAN Declaration states that the aims and purposes of the
Association are: (1) to accelerate the economic growth, social progress and
cultural development in the region through joint endeavours in the spirit of
equality and partnership in order to strengthen the foundation for a prosperous
and peaceful community of Southeast Asian nations, and (2) to promote
regional peace and stability through abiding respect for justice and the rule of
law in the relationship among countries in the region and adherence to the
principles of the United Nations Charter. In 1995, the ASEAN Heads of State and
Government re-affirmed that “Cooperative peace and shared prosperity shall
be the fundamental goals of ASEAN.”

PEACE EDUCATION

Peace education trains and supports students in exploring how to more

effectively analyse and respond to conflict and social inequality. It aims to
develop tools for building a more sustainable and just world for all.

PRELIMINARY QUESTIONS FOR MISS MSU 2015

1. If you had to choose between intelligence and common sense, which would
you choose and why?

This question is phrased to infer that these qualities are opposed to one
another. In fact, you can have BOTH intelligence and common sense. I will go so
far as to claim that the more intelligence you have, the more common sense
you get. Intelligence is the ability to see happenings and ideas quicker and
integrate them into a new theory while common sense is good sense and sound
judgment in practical matters. Intelligence is the root of good common sense.
No intelligence, no good common sense. No good common sense, no
intelligence.

2. If you don’t win, whom would you like to see winning and why?
Danelle Llayco
3. If women were to rule the world by 2050, how different would the world be?
Women have always been the leader in various aspects of life. Be it at

personification of love and compassion.

4. What level of importance must a person have, before they are considered
