LESSON PLAN Subject: Math

Trainee: Reem Munssir Topic or Theme: Division Facts and Strategies.

Class: 3D Date & Duration: 4th March 2019 – from 9:20 to 10:00 (40m)

Trainee Personal Goals:

I am working on time management and supporting the low-level students. I will manage my time by
playing a timer to remained me during the lesson and I will support the low-level students by observe
them and scaffold them during the lesson.

Lesson Focus:

Use repeated subtraction strategy to divide by 8.

Lesson Outcomes:

At the end of the lesson the students will be able to divide by 8 using repeated subtraction strategy.

The students already done with divide by 2, 5, 4, 6 and 10.

Last week in divide by 4 lesson, I taught them how to use groups strategy and drawing array strategy.

Possible problems for learners: Solutions to possible problems:

While using the repeated subtraction
strategy some of the students will
understand that division is subtraction but
it is wrong, division is divide big number
in to equal groups however subtraction is
taking away something.
Repeated subtraction is a strategy that we
can use to solve division facts.
I can fix this misconception by explaining repeated
subtraction as a strategy that we can use to solve
division problems and I will show them how to use
repeated subtraction strategy.
If there is still misconception I will solve with them
subtraction fact and division fact by using hands-on
activity to let the students recognize the difference
between them.

will finish the task before the time is over.
