LESSON PLAN Subject: Math

Trainee: Reem Munssir Topic or Theme: Division Facts and Strategies.

Alkarbi

Class: 3D Date & Duration: 4th March 2019 – from 9:20 to 10:00 (40m)

Trainee Personal Goals:

I am working on time management and supporting the low-level students. I will manage my time by
playing a timer to remained me during the lesson and I will support the low-level students by observe
them and scaffold them during the lesson.

Lesson Focus:

Use repeated subtraction strategy to divide by 8.

Lesson Outcomes:

At the end of the lesson the students will be able to divide by 8 using repeated subtraction strategy.

Links to Prior Learning:

The students already done with divide by 2, 5, 4, 6 and 10.

Last week in divide by 4 lesson, I taught them how to use groups strategy and drawing array strategy.
21st Century Skills that will develop at the end of the lesson:

 During this lesson the students will develop:

Critical thinking skills in think and solving math problems.
Collaboration, Communication and Social skills in team activities.
Creativity skill in creating fun and enjoyable activities.
Key vocabulary

Divide by 8, repeated subtraction, equal groups, dividend, divisor and quotient.

Possible problems for learners: Solutions to possible problems:

While using the repeated subtraction I can fix this misconception by explaining repeated

Differentiation activities (Support)

I will support the low-level students in the practice worksheet by

making the answering process easier.

I will create different worksheet, as it shows I will help the students

to answer the division facts by tracing the places for numbers to
make the repeated subtraction process simple and clear.

I will also support them during the lesson by moving around and
scaffold how need support.

Differentiation activities (Stretch)

I will make the high-level students improve and develop their

more changeable.

I will create different worksheet, as it shows I help the students to

answer the division facts by tracing the places for numbers in the
first question only as an example of how to solve it. Also, there are
two more questions in the back of the paper for the students who
will finish the task before the time is over.
