Development of Surfaces

A hexagonal prism of side 30mm and axis 70mm long rests on one of its hexagonal faces on HP such that
one of the rectangular faces is parallel to VP. A section plane normal to VP cuts the prism while passing
through the diagonally opposite corners of the top and bottom faces of prism. Draw the development of
the lateral surface of lower part of prism and determine the inclination of section plane with HP.

A right circular of diameter 40mm and acis 60mm long resting on one of its circular faces on HP is cut by
a section plane which is normal to VP and inclined to HP passing through the diagonally opposite ends of
the top and bottom faces of cylinder. Draw the development of the lateral surface of lower part of
cylinder. Determine the inclination of section plane with HP.

A pentagonal prism of side 30mm and axis 70mm long rests on one of its pentagonal faces on HP such
that one of the rectangular faces parallel to VP and nearer to it. A hole of diameter 25mm is drilled
such that axis of the hole is perpendicular to VP and bisects the axis of the prism. Draw the development
of the prism showing the shape of hole in it.

A right circular cone of diameter of base 40mm and height 60mm resting on its base on HP is cut by a
section plane which is normal to VP and inclined at 400 to HP bisecting the axis of the cone. Draw the
development of the lateral surface of the lower part of cone.

A cone of diameter of base 40mm ad axis 60mm long resting n its base on HP is cut by a section plane
which is normal to VP and parallel to one of the end generators and at a distance of 10mm from it. Draw
the development of the lateral surface of the larger part of cone and determine the inclination of
section plane with the HP.

base parallel to VP. A section plane normal to VP and inclined at 400 to HP bisects the axis of the
pyramid. Draw the development of the lateral surface of lower part of pyramid.

that an edge of base is parallel to VP and nearer to it. A vertical section plane cuts the pyramid at a
distance of 10mm from its axis and nearer to the observer. Draw the development of the lateral surface
of larger part of pyramid.
