Reconnaissance Survey for BG Railway Freight Line, Orissa
Mott MacDonald conducted a feasibility study, reconnaissance survey and
costing review for a BG freight line in the state of Orissa on behalf of Railways.
The study included a proposal to finance the line on a build, operate, manage
and maintain basis. We worked as a sub consultant to Rio Tinto.

Palwal New Railway Line Design To eliminate capacity bottlenecks

on the golden quadrilateral and diagonals and to provide strategic rail
communication links to ports, the Government of India conceived a massive
rail sector investment plan. Mott MacDonald helped strengthen Cabin Palwal
junction on line 4 of Northern Railways for Rail Vikas Nigam Limited.

Palwal Railway Proof Checking We undertook proof checking for the

Redevelopment of railway stations

Patna Railway Station We have been appointed as technical consultants
by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India to prepare a master plan
and feasibility report for redevelopment of Patna Railway Station into a world
class station. The INR 30,000 million project is being developed on a design,
build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis to cater for 104 million
passengers per annum by 2050. Mott MacDonald provided a topographical,
geotechnical and utility traffic survey on real estates and commercial

traffic planning, infrastructure development and land redevelopment.

New Delhi Railway Station New Delhi Station is located in central

Delhi and is being redeveloped to world class standards. The station will
act as a link between rail and road traffic, as well as the metro network
and airport metro express line. Mott MacDonald rendered technical advisory
services to the Ministry of Railways for short listing the concessionaires. Our
services encompassed bid assistance, evaluation of technical proposal and
preparation of technical schedules for the concession agreement, construction
programme and management plans.

For London’s Crossrail, one of the biggest

and most complex rail projects in the
world, we’re working on several new design
contracts. The biggest of these is detailed
design of all sprayed concrete lined tunnels.
