In this case, the flight crew should: ~ Reset both FDs and set FCU - Restart Standard Operating Procedures from the AFTER START checklist. STALL RECOVERY ‘Applicable to: ALL Ident: PR-AEP-MISC-D-00016961,0001001 /20 MAR 17 DEFINITION OF THE STALL The stall is a condition in aerodynamics where the Angle of Attack (AOA) increases beyond a point such that the lift begins to decrease CTB A320 FLEET PR-AEP-MISC P 20/30 FCTM eJtoK> 04 SEP 18 @ PROCEDURES Thomas Cook ‘aries, ABNORMAL AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES A320 FLIGHT CREW MISC TECHNIQUES MANUAL As per basic aerodynamic rules, the lift coefficient (CL) increases linearly with the AOA up to a point where the airflow starts to separate from the upper surface of the wing, At and beyond this point, the flight crew may observe: - Buffeting, which depends on the slats/flaps configuration and increases at high altitude due to the high Mach number ~ Pitch up effect, mainly for swept wings and aft CG. This effect further increases the AOA. Lift Coefficient versus Angle of Attack Lift Coefficient (C, ) PUI Mo @altt(r. aa O)n0) Ifthe AOA further increases up to a value called AOA,u, the lift coefficient wll reach a maximum value called C, yas When the AOA is higher than AOA.) the airflow separates from the wing surface and the lift coefficient decreases. This is the stall. The stall will aivays occur at the same AOA for a given configuration, Mach number and attitude. Both Slats and Flaps create an increase in the maximum lift coefficient. CTB A320 FLEET PR-AEP-MISC P 22/30 FCTM eK> 04 SEP 18
