Why do people take birth control?

Some people take it birth control because they want protection, taking it to stop their

period, or taking it to put their period back on track because they had and irregular period.

Females take it or the doctors inject it and 9 times out of 10 they don't read up on it and see what

it really do to their body it may do nothing harmful but i feel like some people are taking it for

the wrong reasons. 22 women were asked why do they take birth control their answers was

“Because nobody should control my reproductive health BUT ME”, “IT KEEPS MY PCOS

UNDER CONTROL (also i don't want babies right now!)”, “I want to be a mom one day, but I

have a lot to check off my to do list first”, “Because I have ADULT ACNE and nothing else

works”, “You try living with these cramps without birth

control.”https://www.womenshealthmag.com/health/a19924552/why-women-take-birth-control/

By K Aleisha Fetters some women have a real reason for taking birth control but not all like the

women above all have good reasons for using birth control but i do thing that some of them need

to use condoms if they are not allergic to latex. It prevents pregnancy, STD, ect. Before someone

choose a birth control look up how it can affect the body or emotions; birth control pills is not

reliable because the person might forget to take them. Birth control is defined as to control of the

number of children or offspring born especially by preventing or lessening the frequency of

conception.the facts that i have found are “There are around 16 types of birth control methods

which include: abstinence, condoms, and pills.”, “Four things to consider when deciding on the

best birth control method for you: reliability of the method, ease of use of the method, potential

side-effects, and health risks.”,” Family Planning is the planning of when to have children

techniques to implement such plans. Natural family planning uses the naturally occurring signs

of the fertile and infertile phases of a woman's menstrual cycle to achieve or postpone

pregnancy.”,”53% of African women have an unmet need for contraception, in Asia it’s 21% and

it's 22% in Latin America and the Caribbean.”,”Birth Control is a multi-billion dollar business,

which means it is expected to grow and provide more effective contraceptive methods in the

future.”https://www.dosomething.org/us/facts/11-facts-about-birth-control 11 FACTS ABOUT

BIRTH CONTRO

How do birth control affects the woman's body

They affect the hormone levels in a person's body, so many people experience side

effects shortly after taking them. When taking birth control all people do not have side effects.

Some side effects will go away within several months as the body adjusts to the hormones. Other

side effects may develop after taking hormones for some time.there is mixed evidence that

hormonal contraceptives may increase the risk of breast and cervical cancer but reduce the risk

of endometrial, ovarian, and colorectal cancers. The hormones in birth control, including

progesterone and estrogen, may stimulate the growth of some types of cancer cells and reduce

the risk of others developing. people who have taken birth control pills are slightly more likely to

develop breast cancer. Now it's different if a doctor prescribes you birth control on he or she own
Hayes3

because he or she might know something about your body that they don't it's ok to take them that

way. Short-term side effects of birth control may include headaches, nausea, weight gain, and

mood swings. Hormonal methods of birth control contain artificial progesterone or estrogen and

progesterone. They affect the hormone levels in a person's body, so many people experience side

effects shortly after taking them. Many people use hormonal birth control for contraception. But,

others take hormonal birth control to manage long-term medical conditions. Conditions include

heavy or painful periods, endometriosis, and menopause symptoms. Doctors approve the use of

the pills for these conditions, so they should be okay to take. The hormones in the pill can

change your level of sexual desire. You may also notice spotting or bleeding between periods

this is more common with progestin-only pills, sore breasts, nausea, or headaches. These side

effects usually go away after 2 or 3 months, and they don’t happen to everyone who takes the

pill. Birth control shouldn’t make you feel sick or uncomfortable. Luckily, there are many

different types of birth control, so you’ve got options. If you keep having side effects that bother

you after using the pill for 3 months, talk with your nurse or doctor about trying another brand of

pill or another birth control method. But don’t stop taking the pill without starting a new method,

or you won’t be protected from pregnancy. Serious problems from taking the birth control pill

are very rare. People using birth control that has estrogen, like combination pills, have a slightly

higher chance of having a few rare but dangerous problems than people who don’t use birth

control with hormones. Read more about birth control pill safety. Like with all medications, the

pill isn’t for everyone. Smoking and birth control pills don’t always mix. If you’re over 35 and a
Hayes4

smoker, you shouldn’t use the combination pill or any other kind of birth control that contains

the hormone estrogen. You can take progestin-only pills mini pills if you’re a smoker.

What is an IUD?

An IUD short for intrauterine device is a small, T-shaped device that is made of soft, flexible

plastic and is smaller than you think. Insertion of an IUD by your healthcare provider is a

nonsurgical procedure, and it typically takes just a few minutes to place it in your uterus. Once in

place, it can provide up to 5 years of continuous pregnancy prevention. IUDs are reversible, and

can be removed by your healthcare provider at any time, so you can try to get pregnant right

away. You should not use NEXPLANON if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant; have

or have had blood clots; have liver disease or a liver tumor; have unexplained vaginal bleeding;

have breast cancer or any other cancer that is sensitive to progestin (a female hormone), now or

in the past; or are allergic to anything in NEXPLANON.Talk to your health care provider about

using NEXPLANON if you have diabetes, high cholesterol or triglycerides, headaches,

gallbladder or kidney problems, history of depressed mood, high blood pressure, allergy to

numbing medicines anesthetics or medicines used to clean your skin antiseptics. These

medicines will be used when the implant is placed into or removed from your arm.

What is the most popular age that people start taking birth control

There are 61 million U.S. women of reproductive age (15–44). About 43 million of them (70%)

are at risk of unintended pregnancy—that is, they are sexually active and do not want to become
Hayes5

pregnant, but could become pregnant if they and their partners fail to use a contraceptive method

correctly and consistently. Couples who do not use any method of contraception have

approximately an 85% chance of experiencing a pregnancy over the course of a year. In the

United States, the average desired family size is two children. To achieve this family size, a

woman must use contraceptives for roughly three decades.More than 99% of women aged 15–44

who have ever had sexual intercourse have used at least one contraceptive method. Some 60% of

all women of reproductive age are currently using a contraceptive method. Eighty-three percent

of black women at risk of unintended pregnancy are currently using a contraceptive method,

compared with 91% of their Hispanic and white peers, and 90% of their Asian peers. Among

women at risk of unintended pregnancy, 92% of those with an income of at least 300% of the

federal poverty level and 89% of those living at 0–149% of poverty are currently using a

contraceptive method. A much higher proportion of married women than of never-married

women use a contraceptive method (77% vs. 42%), largely because married women are more

likely to be sexually active. But even among those at risk of unintended pregnancy, contraceptive

use is higher among currently married women than among never-married women (93% vs. 83%).

Can birth control make you emotional

For many women, taking birth control medication is a necessity in the interest of the type of

passionate, spontaneous, and supremely enjoyable sex life they want to have with their partners.

It’s nice to have the reassurance that these medications are as safe as they are effective, and come
Hayes6

without much in the way of disadvantageous side effects for women. Now, to be perfectly

honest, very few women if any will ever be receptive to the suggestion that they’re being overly

emotional. That’s perfectly fine, but it’s also fair to ask can birth control make you

emotional? That’s a question that may be more likely to be asked by women who are already

predisposed to more severe mood or emotional swings. That can be the case for both women

AND men, but the fact of the matter is that men – at least for now (a male birth control pill is in

development) – don’t have to be concerned about adverse reactions of this type to

pharmaceutical medication. Indeed, ‘can birth control make me emotional?’ isn’t a query we

can’t expect to hear from any man anytime soon. For women, however, it’s one that is worthy of

some clarification for all the many women of different ages who use birth control. Let’s get to

the bottom of whether birth control makes you emotional is an indisputable fact, or if it’s not as

much of a far-reaching truth as some suggest it is. All type of protection
