What is Cyber Bullying?
When someone uses an electronic communication device to
personally bully another person. When someone sends a message to
intimidate or threatening messages to another.
10 different types of Cyber Bullying
● Exclusion- To leave someone out deliberately
● Harassment- Pattern of hurtful or threatening online messages
● Outing- Revealing sensitive information about someone without their consent
● Trickery- The bully gains the person’s trust and uses it against them
● Cyberstalking- Threats of physical harm to the person being targeted
● Fraping- Uses person’s account to post inappropriate content
● Dissing- Spreading cruel information about the person
● Trolling- To intentionally hurt someone and leave hateful comments
● Masquerading- Bully makes up a profile or identity online to harm the person
● Flaming- Posting about or directly sending insults
How to Prevent Cyber Bullying
● Protect your passwords
● Keep photos PG
● Think before you post
● Set up privacy controls
● Don’t open messages from people you don’t know
How to Handle Cyberbullying
If you're being cyber bullied there are many ways to put a stop to it.
You should consider deleting your social media to prevent potential issues for the
future altogether.
If you are seeing someone else being cyberbullied you can take action yourself

Facts about Cyberbullying
● 43% of kids have been bullied online
● 70% said they see bullying happen online
● 68% teens agree that cyberbullying is a serious problem
● 81% young people think it’s easier to bully online and get away with it
● 90% kids ignore bullying online
● Only 1 in 10 victims will tell an adult what is happening
● Bullying victims are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider committing
suicide
● Support the young person being bullied
● Offer them advice on where to go for support
● Offer to go with to report it
● Report the account
● Know it’s not your fault
● Don’t respond or retaliate
● Save the evidence
● Tell the person to stop
● Reach out for help
● Block the person
● Protect your account

● Anxious, scared, stressed, sad
● Lots of headaches
● Tired from lack of sleep
● Ashamed, embarrassed
● Mentioning not wanting to be “here” anymore
● Avoids going out
● Having trouble focusing
● Don’t want to hang out with people
