Thoughtful Reflection Essay

Well Throughout this semester, It was so hard for me, But then I was able to grow as a writer and

that can be seen through my essays. I was able to learn from my mistakes because I had the

opportunity to revise my graded essays in order to improve in my writing skills. At the beginning

of the class it was very different for me because I have been take the class. Also, the first time I

wrote essays, It was very hard for me, because I didn’t know how to start writing an essay. But

when you pay attention to your Professor, then you learn new things that you might haven’t

known. In this world you never stops learning new things, you always learn every day if we pay

attention. At the beginning of the class I was very happy to take an English class at the

university. I was interested in all the things that the Professor was teaching us, in the first

exercise we did in class I remember that I did good. When I revised my essay, I When I revised

my essay, I kept some parts where I wrote in third person as a way to make a general analysis,

but then I added my personal experiences where I connected these experiences back to my thesis.

In the Project Text Essay, my formatting and organization of the paper was not the correct way. I

wrote five body paragraphs, where the the first and third body paragraph was explaining the

situations of the two characters. And also, I used evidence from the novel itself, and did not add

any textual evidence. In the second and fourth body paragraphs, I explained their situations and

used textual evidence from outside sources, like Pursuing Happiness. In my second essay, I

didn't do good at all. But I revised my essay which helped me learn from my mistakes. Because

everyone make mistake in this world. I was able to go back to my essay be more specific in

certains areas and fix certain parts of my essay. I learned from this course that in order for me to

improve and get a better understanding of how to be a better writer, I would need to receive

feedback. Since this course has given me the opportunity to get the feedback. But I think I'll have

to work harder each day, so I don't have to mistakes in my work. In this class I have learned a

lot although they don't notice it, but I know that if I have learned how to write an essay how to

correct it and know what to do next in that essay. I also want to thanks the Professor because she

could take us to the Library to learn how to make some resources in the LRC. Not all the

Professors do that, and she did. on my part I did learn something that I didn't know, but I

learned. As the term comes to an end, I look back on what i have accomplished in this class. To

improve in these areas I think I need to make it a point to start things earlier, set goals for myself

independent of the due dates of assignments so that I have time to get peer reviews and other

critiques, as well as ample time to revise and rethink my positions and statements so as to more

effectively communicate my message. I need to practice listening to people I disagree with so

that I can maintain my composure in the face of ideas I strongly disagree with. Losing that

composure destroys my credibility when I attempt to rebut people's arguments, and it is likely to

lessen their inclination to listen to my position on the matter at hand. Composure in front of a

crowd is probably the skill that I would like to improve the most, next to time management. The

only way to improve my presentation skills is to practice them, so I will attempt in the future to

jump at every opportunity to present something. That’s how I really feel like I did in this 2 last

week after this class.
