2Tim. 2:15, 1-22

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Pagsikapan mong
humarap na subok sa Dios, manggagawang walang anomang ikahihiya, na gumagamit na matuwid ng salita ng katotohanan.

Eph. 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Gen. 1:26-28

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish
of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

I. Discipline.. Good soldiers, v3..

3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Makipagtiis ka sa akin ng mga kahirapan, na gaya ng mabuting kawal ni Cristo Jesus.

4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Sinomang kawal na nasa pagkakawal ay hindi nahalubilo sa mga bagay ng buhay na ito; upang siya'y kalugdan niyaong nagtala sa pagkakawal.

Note:
LIKE A SOLDIERS.. They have discipline in their food, in their act, in their appearance/look, in their time..

As a christian, we need to have discipline like a good soldiers..

Character of a soldier..

- The one who is Chosen..

- The one who obey the Command.. ( Endure Hardness.. V3, Entanglements.. V4 )

- The one who has a Commander.. ( recognizes authority )

- The one who serve his Country.. ( we are citizens of another country, HEAVEN )

II. Dedication.. Good sportsman, v5..

...Being devoted, sacrificed, faithfulness..

5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

At kung ang sinoman ay makikipaglaban naman sa mga laro, ay hindi pinuputungan maliban na kung makipaglabang matuwid.

Character of an athlete..

- He must Train - Prepare.. ( no shortcuts in training )

Note:

We need to Practice,.

Soul winning, prayer, word of God, giving..

- He must desire to Win.. 1Cor. 9:24

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

We need to run, until we reach the finish line..

- He must follow the Rules.. ( God set up the rules for the race. Can't choose your own path or your own way )

We need to know and remember that after all things we must face our game master,. 2Cor 5:10

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done,
whether it be good or bad.

What kind of athlete we are?.. Are we a striver or a quiter?..

III. Determination.. Good sower, v6-7..

....A quality that makes you continue trying to do or achieve something that is difficult.. ( Pagnanais )

6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

Ang magsasaka na nagpapagal ay siyang kailangang unang makabahagi sa mga bunga.

7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Isipin mo ang sinasabi ko; sapagka't bibigyan ka ng Panginoon ng pagkaunawa sa lahat ng mga bagay.

Note:

Like a sower we need to do and do, what we want to achieve whether it is hard or difficult.
- He must have the right preparation.. Work, Watch, Water his field..

- He must have the right kind of seed.. Matt. 13:23

23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some
an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

IV. Diligence.. Good students, v15.. ( Pagsusumikap )

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word the word of truth.

Pagsikapan mong humarap na subok sa Dios, manggagawang walang anomang ikahihiya, na gumagamit na matuwid ng salita ng katotohanan.

- Approval of self.. " study to show thyself approved unto God "

What we are and what we do, should be pleasing to God..

The word study here is from greek word that means, to have diligence, to show eagerness..

Study to be confident ( not ashamed )..

to be commended ( approved )..

to be correct ( rightly dividing )..

- Acceptability of service.. " a workman that needeth not to be ashamed "

A workman must have knowledge,

must have tools,

must have energy for the task,

and must labor to get approval..

V. Dignity.. Good servant of God, v20-22..

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
Datapuwa't sa isang malaking bahay ay hindi lamang may mga sisidlang ginto at pilak, kundi mayroon din namang kahoy at lupa; at ang iba'y sa
ikapupuri, at ang iba'y sa ikasisirang-puri.

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good
work. Kung ang sinoman nga ay malinis sa alin man sa mga ito, ay magiging sisidlang ikapupuri, pinakabanal, marapat gamitin ng mayari, nahahanda sa
lahat ng gawang mabuti.

22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Datapuwa't layuan mo ang
masasamang pita ng kabinataan, at sundin mo ang kabanalan, ang pananampalataya, ang pagibig, ang kapayapaan, kasama ng mga nagsisitawag sa
Panginoon mula sa pusong malinis.
