3 Remove the lock screw.

Use a screwdriver to remove the lock ring if it is difficult to remove.

10 Clean the sealing surfaces.

11 Check the inlet.

An unusual amount of oil indicates a high oil consumption or a fault in the filter insert.

12 Perform this procedure when the condition below is met.

Conditions
● If there is an excessive amount of soot in the air drier housing.

▶ Check the cooling coil ➠  Cooling coil, compressor, check .

▶ Clean the inside of the air drier housing.

13 Install the filter screen.

Note
Use a new part.
Ensure it is properly positioned in its housing.

Note
It is essential to install a filter screen when the filter cartridge is being replaced, if the air
drier is not equipped with one.

14 Remove the blanking plug.

15 Clean the inside of the filter housing.

16 Install the filter insert.

17 Install the seals.

21 Install the lock screw.

Tightening torque

Air drier, lock ring, lock screw 5+1 0 Nm

Note
Use a new part.

Note
Use a screwdriver when fitting the lock screw so as not to exceed the maximum torque.

Calibration is required when the filter insert is replaced.

22 Calibrate the filter insert with the diagnostic tool (Volvo Tech Tool) or via the instrument cluster.

23 Reset the parameter according to the instructions in the instrument.

24 Install the exhaust hose on the exhaust pipe.

25 Apply the parking brake.

26 Place the gear lever in neutral.

27 Start the engine (III).

28 Let the engine idle.

Tech data

The pneumatic system is full when the compressor unloads.

29 Check that no fault message is displayed on the screen.

30 Set the key in position 0.

31 Remove the exhaust hose.

32 Check for leakage.
