Statement Of Purpose

I first found my interest in buildings while visiting my father’s work place,

When I was in 8th grade. I grew up watching my father constructing houses, since
then I got the interest in construction field. So, from high school itself I got fixed
that I will study only civil engineering not any other courses. My goal is to become
one of the best engineers in my native place. I also wanted to study abroad to
improve my knowledge to international standards and to know the modern
techniques to keep me updated in this very fast growing world.

I got completed my Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2018 from

New Prince Shri Bhavani College, which is a highly reputed college in my native
place. During this course of study, I have built an extensive foundation of
knowledge in areas including estimation, pre-fabricated structures, principles of
management, mechanics of solids. Meanwhile, I also had the chance to take classes
on estimation and various construction techniques, which had given me an
opportunity to hone my communication, leadership and organizational skills. My
overall scores have been quite strong, with especially high scores in concrete
technology subject, which is due to my strong interest in the subject.

While pursuing my degree, I attended one-day practical workshop on

leading innovation of surveying in modern civil industry held at my college. Also, I
visited construction site of COSH hospital tambaram and learned construction of
retaining wall. In my 7th semester, I attended In-plant training in Building centre
and conservation division. I also have work experience as an Assistant site
engineer for nearly 2 months in Lakshmi Homes Construction Company. After
completing my degree, I worked as an intern in Hi-Tech Concrete solutions for 3
months. All these experiences, gained me a great knowledge in practical work and
how to work as an engineer in working site.

With the above experiences, I consider myself thoroughly prepared for the
challenge of further studies in abroad. I choose “Master of Civil Engineering in
New Structures”, because it provides graduates with an in-depth understanding of
the structural design applied in the modern construction industry. Two things which
I got interested in was steel structures and BIM. These two courses, will attract a
lot of attention and is the future of construction.

I am eager to learn from the talented professors and inspired students from
the Politecnico di milano in Italy. I strongly believe that after graduation from your
program, I will be uniquely prepared to face the challenges of the international
world. My short term goal is to seek employment in Italy, that could serve as a
practical supplement to my education. In the long term, I plan to return to my
native country, where the fast-developing economy requires experienced engineers.
Your master’s program will allow me to achieve my goals and therefore I greatly
