Q.1 What were the major challenges faced by the Wipro? Analyse in the light of present
environment changes across the sector as well as globe.

A.1 The significant difficulties looked by Wipro are as per the following:

• Wipro Launched the AI stage called "Holmes" (Heuristics and philosophy based learning machines
and experiential frameworks), this AI wizard should free up to 3,300 specialists from the "ordinary"
programming employments. The news made a frenzy among IT engineers it made a feeling of
vulnerability and thusly influencing representative's commitment and responsibility with the
organization contrarily.

• The test was the means by which to strike a decent harmony between utilize hyper-
computerization and overseeing individuals viably and fortify labour arranging such that
representative resolve, inspiration, responsibility, devotion, unwaveringness and commitment does
not get influenced with more utilization of automation.

• To limit any opposition in the association and guarantee representatives do acknowledge this
computerization

In the light of present condition changes over the segment and also globe the difficulties are:

• It biggest affected the activity showcase as the general line of thought was that this automation
drive would execute employments done by the general population.

• Industry examiners trusted that the move would result in an enduring lessening sought after for
passage level designers for different exercises including coding, server farm and server bolster

• Nasscom announced that crisp employing in the year 2015-2016 was relied upon to decay when
contrasted with 2014-2015 as more occupations may move to mechanization, even the grounds
enlisting was required to fall out of the blue since 2009.

• World Economic Forum report, mechanization and robots were relied upon to slaughter around 5.1
million occupations by 2020, with an aggregate loss of roughly 7.1 million employments.

Q.2 What benefits Wipro may get after implementing Holmes? Are there any disadvantages to the
company as well? If so, please highlight.

A.2 Benefits Wipro may get after implementing Holmes are:

• Benefits were normal as 40% lower cost. Further, programming robots were assessed to cost 33%
the cost of a seaward full-time worker and as manager as around one-fifth the cost of coastal full-
time representative with a precision anticipated that would be near 100% as they kill the
requirement for human intercession and in this way no possibility of human blunders.

• It was additionally accepted to lessen process durations and conveyance cost with higher
profitability at it was relied upon to deal with day in and day out premise.

• The greatest advantage was its adaptability and in addition versatility, as they can be effortlessly
repeated crosswise over various topographies and diverse organizations, it has preference of
improved process consistence and maintaining a strategic distance from any moral issues related
with individuals working too hard and for extended periods to take care of customer's demand.

The drawbacks are:

• The innovative headway, for example, utilization of AI had purchased monetary advance for the
organization by supplanting human muscle, nut it does as such at the danger of making a huge
number of native's unemployable with a more noteworthy harm to as of now declining white collar
class, particularly in the nation like India which is battling with surplus labour and work issues

• This drift was required to acquire an ocean change, and a greater test for the HR office on the best
way to reinforce and streamline their labour arranging process, ability rebuilding and sending.

Q.3 How does implementation of Holmes influence manpower planning process and how does
Wipro ensure a smooth integration of Man and Technology.

A.3 • Manpower arranging process included different stages. The above all else is to design the
prerequisite of all sort of representatives and other incorporate arranging of labour supplies to give
the correct sort of individuals at the ideal time.

• After execution of Holmes, the enrollment procedure would turn out to be short on the grounds
that there would be no requirement for new workers.

• All the back-end work would be done by robots, so entry level occupation delegates would wind up
jobless.

• The cost acquired on aptitude improvement and preparing would rise.

• Wipro assumes that human and man-influenced thinking aren't to in competition, when individuals
and machine collaborate they can make something bewildering.

• Humans are inventive, they make and disrupt guidelines, and are pioneers while AI is just fit for
following standards, and can't make anything, so WIPRO is attempting to coordinate man and
innovation to make something new and astounding.

Q4: How would they ensure least resistance from the employees’ side? What all WIPRO should do
to ensure it does not affect engagements of its employees.

A.4

1. Communication with Employee about the change: If introduction of AI is done in a smooth way
and the same is communicated to the employees, that could ensure least resistance. Sure no
one likes change, but if change is introduced in such way that it also benefits the employees
then it could be welcome nicely.
2. AI does specific works but Human Take Decision: If an employee is valuable and is confident
about his work, he won’t have a problem with introduction of AI, because humans are
decision makers, they make and break rules to make something amazing, whereas AI would
only follow rules and can’t create anything and is not at all creative and innovative as humans.
3. Scaling up: Under this, employees don’t leave but the organization up their operations so they
could implement Holmes and also not fire the current employees affected by the introduction
of AI.
4. Fixed Price Projects: Fixed price products are those which have a fixed cost involved, and they
client is not bothered about the number of humans or robots indulged in that project, they
are just concerned with the completion of the task. To ensure smooth integration Wipro
should deploy employees to these fixed price projects, which employees around 40,000
employees.
5. Even better job opportunity: If an employee is being replaced by AI, then the company can
provide him a better job in an another company, so that he doesn’t feel that the company
just used him, and threw him away when his use was over.
