Sampling Technique
The researcher used a stratified random sampling or “random quota sampling” in this
research to branch off the entire population into multiple non-overlapping, homogeneous
groups and randomly choose final members of various strata for research which reduces
cost and improves efficiency.
Respondents
The researcher chose 37 male and 27 female STEM- students from the sections of Malachi,
Jude, Thessalonians and Corinthians for a total of 65 respondents

This study aims to determine the relationship between reading comprehension skills
and mathematical problem-solving ability of selected grade eleven students at Lyceum of
Alabang.
1.) What are the characteristics of students in terms of age and sex?
4.) What is the significant difference in students reading comprehension skills when
grouped according to sex?
5.) What is the significant difference in students problem-solving skills when grouped
according to sex?
6.) What is the significant relationship between students’ reading comprehension skills and
problem-solving skills?
