What are the major beliefs of Muslims concerning the Angels?

Angels are the messengers of the divine revelation to prophets and trust in them is an
elementary article of faith in Islam. The Holy Quran says that “ HE DOTH SEND DOWN HIS
ANGELS WITH INSPIRATION OF HIS COMMAND TO SUCH OF HIS SERVANTS AS HE
PLEASETH.” The Holy Prophet (PBUH) alleged that angels have no contribution to the Allah’s
holiness. The angels are created of light and unlike Jinns and Humans they are not gifted with
a free will. The angels are not the daughters of Allah and nor are they items of worship. They
have no awareness except what Allah has taught them. They never get fatigued and have not any
further necessities like human beings. Angels can renovate into humans at the willpower of
Allah. They have the compulsory qualities to execute unambiguous functions.

The angels proceed as Allah’s servants and serve him in numerous ways.
They are absolutely docile to Allah’s orders and worship him. They are sent to protect us and
administer Allah’s punishments. They brace the hearts of the honorable people and put dread in
the hearts of non-believers. They pray for the believers but can’t propose mediation. They
send blessings on the prophets. Angels are the sentinels of the heaven and hell.

There are many angels among them the spectacular are:

 Hazrat Jibrael (A.S) is the leader of the angels. Revealed Quran to the Holy Prophet
(PBUH) and passed the revelations to the prophets and through him Allah spoke to his
prophets.
 Hazrat Izrael (A.S) is the angel of death and responsible for taking our souls upon our
death.
 Hazrat Israfel (A.S) is the angel who will blow the trumpet on the Day of Judgment.

 Hazrat Mikail (A.S) is answerable for watching over the universe, giving rain and
providing provision to the people.

 Hazrat Rizwan (A.S) is the in charge of heaven.

 Hazrat Malik (A.S) is the in charge of hell.

 Respected Recorders are the angels that record people’s words and conducts up to the
moment of their death and this record is presented to every human on the Day of
Judgement.

The Holy Quran says that “ But verily on you (are appointed angels) to protect you- kind
and honorable and record your deeds.

 Munkir and Nakir are the angels who will come to ask question from the dead person
after he or she is reserved in the grave.
