Acts 2:42-47 (The believers prayed together)
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles

The believers spent their time in learning from the apostles, taking
part in the fellowship, and sharing in the fellowship meals and the
prayers.
Many miracles and wonders were being done through the
apostles, and everyone was filled with awe. All believers
continued together in close fellowship and shared their belongings
with one another. They would sell their property and possessions,
and distribute the money among all, according to what each one
needed. Day after day they met as a group in the Temple, and they
had their meals together in their homes, eating with glad and
humble hearts, praising God, and enjoying the good will of all the
people. And every day the Lord added to their group those who
were being saved.

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

Reading 2
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (God wants us to be saved)
A reading from the first letter of St Paul to Timothy.

First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, requests, and

thanksgivings be offered to God for all people; for kings and all
others who are in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceful
life with all reverence towards God and with proper conduct. This
is good and it pleases God out Saviour, who wants everyone to be
saved and to come to know the truth.

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 22:25, 27-28
Response: The Lord has saved his people.

In the full assembly I will praise you,

O Lord, for what you have done;
In the presence of those who worship you,
I will offer the sacrifices I promised.
Response

All nations will remember the Lord.

From every part of the world they will turn to Him;
All races will worship Him.

Gospel John 14:16
A Reading from the Holy Gospel According to John.
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s
house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I
have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I
go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take
you myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am
going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are
going; how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life No one
comes to the Father except through me.”

The Gospel of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.
