    Ar lan y môr mae 'nghariad inne Beside the sea their beauty telling
    Yn cysgu'r nos a chodi'r bore. My true love sleeps within her dwelling

    Ar lan y môr mae carreg wastad Beside the sea the stones lie scattered
    Lle bûm yn siarad gair â'm cariad Where tender words in love were uttered
    O amgylch hon fe dyf y lili While all around there grew the lily
    Ac ambell gangen o rosmari. And sweetest branches of rosemary

    Ar lan y môr mae cerrig gleision Beside the sea blue pebbles lying
    Ar lan y môr mae blodau'r meibion Beside the sea gold flowers glowing
    Ar lan y môr mae pob rinweddau Beside the sea are all things fairest
    Ar lan y môr mae nghariad innau. Beside the sea is found my dearest

    Llawn yw'r môr o swnd a chegryn Full the sea of sand and billows
    Llawn yw'r wy o wyn a melyn Full the egg of whites and yellows
    Llawn yw'r coed o ddail a blode Full the woods of leaf and flower
    Llawn o gariad merch wyf inne. Full my heart of love for ever.

    Mor hardd yw'r haul yn codi'r bore Fair the sun at new day’s dawning
    Mor hardd yw'r enfys aml ei liwie Fair the rainbow’s colours shining
    Mor hardd yw natur ym Mehefin Fair the summer, fair as heaven
    Ond harddach fyth yw wyneb Elin Fairer yet the face of Elin
