Learning never stops during a lifetime and I think that every day is a learning

opportunity. I embody the SLE; Life long learner because there are many ways to learn

and different aspects of life to learn from. This year I learned about how people can

have a positive or negative impact in my life. I learned how to stick to the good and

learn from the bad. I also learned that I have talents that I wasn’t aware of and that I can

be good in many things. I learn quickly and even the subject that trouble me the most

like math, I came to learn that confidence, faith and consistency make things work out

better. As a life long learner I apply my faith in what I do every day giving God thanks for

letting me learn. Not everyone is blessed with the opportunity to go to school and mostly

I am very thankful that my parents for taking me across the border to go to St. Charles.

Now I understand why they did so. I am blessed by God to have this opportunity to learn

another language, another culture, other traditions, and learn everyday in my faith.

I will apply what I have learned in elementary and middle school in my future

years and my goal is to never stop learning. One of the best ways that I love to learn is

by traveling. This year one of the highlights was traveling to Japan. I learned so many

things, not only about the Japanese culture. I also learned about being prepared,

thinking about others, adapting to different situations, communication skills, and

listening to what my parents and Mr. Blair had to say. These skills help me in High

School and in years to come. Learning not only comes from books. Learning is listening

to life and everything that happens around you.

Thankfully I have the best role models for me to mirror. I have not had any

difficulty in achieving any of the S.L.E.’s and I think this is because I have the support
needed and the confidence others lack. Over my years at St. Charles I have received

many S.L.E. awards. I have gotten each at least once. When I get these awards I am

thankful and happy because that means I am doing my job as a student and also that I

have the best role models at both school and home.
