Calaba Bridge (Bangued, Abra)

Type of Bridge: Austrian Modular Bridge

The Austrian modular steel bridge structure was designed and materials used were
supplied by Waagner Biro Philippines, Inc. The 906 linear meter-long bridge along the Abra-
Ilocos Norte national road connects the three municipalities across the Abra River, namely
La Paz, Danglas, and Lagayan to Bangued. The bridge serves as a primary link to the
provinces of Ilocos Norte and Cagayan, and other urban centers in the region where farm
produce to the rural areas could be transported.

BGH FLYOVER (Baguio City)

The BGH Flyover is the 172-meter long two-way flyover of the City of Baguio, located
at the Baguio General Hospital.

It is the second flyover constructed in the City of Baguio (the first was the Magsaysay
Avenue Flyover), and was opened to the public on January 17, 2008.

It had become the center of controversy and quarrel among local politicians and various
local citizens as some deemed its construction unnecessary considering that the traffic volume in
the area has lessened.

A relatively short bridge that has two lanes provided which is traversed by vehicles. The
wearing surface is made of pavement. According to the list of national bridges of DPWH, as of
28 December 2016, the bridge’s overall condition is described as Fair.
Lamut Bridge (Lamut, Ifugao)

Lamut Bridge crosses the Lamut River which separates the Provinces of Nueva
Vizcaya and Ifugao, spanning approximately 130.00 meters long by 7.00 meters wide; the
bridge which comprises four steel trusses are supported by four concrete piers. Built
sometime in the 1930’s, the bridge use to serve as the gateway to the province of Ifugao until
the new concrete Lamut Bridge was built beside it. The bridge like most damaged during the
Second World War was repaired with funds coming from the United States-Philippine
Rehabilitation Act of 1946.

Banaue’s hanging bridge may not stun most people, but it does attract a lot of
attention from people who go to Banaue for the first time. It’s a simple bridge that connects
the local market/town center with the rest of Banaue. In particular, it connects the town
center to Brgy. Bocos, home to the Immaculate Conception School.

Every step you take on the bridge will literally make a sound: the metal used on the
walkway is not connected properly, but it is secure.

It was built to give students of Immaculate Conception and residents of Bocos Village
an easier way to get to the town center and back without the need for transportation.
Chico Karayan Bridge (Bontoc, Mountain Province)

The Chico Karayan Bridge connects barangay Samoki to the central district of Bontoc
across the Chico River. The bridge was damaged during the onslaught of typhoon Lawin in
October 2016 and was set for rehabilitation last May 2018. The damage was due to the scouring
in its piles.
Bubulayan Bridge (Pudtol, Apayao)

Antonio Canao Bridge (Kalinga)

After downgrading overtime the approaches of the New Antonio Canao Bridge in
Kalinga, it was immediately opened to motorist. The project amounting to P160 million is
part of the SONA projects of the former administration. This 280 meters pre-stressed
concrete girder bridge connects the capital town to the other five municipalities of Kalinga
as well as its neighboring provinces of Mt. Province and Apayao.
Nambaran Bridge (Tabuk, Kalinga)

Tabuk is politically subdivided into 42 barangays, one of the barangays is Nambaran.
