Transcript/Attendance Reflection

High school is full of ups and downs. You can really get an understanding of how

high school might have been for someone by looking at their transcripts and also

attendance. For me personally, the numbers that shown are a pretty accurate

representation of who I am and my work ethic. I believe that by looking at my

transcripts you can see the kind of student I have been and understand how I have

operated for the past four years.

Transcripts showcase all the grades that you have gotten, and by looking at my

own transcripts it is obvious how consistent of a person I am. Nearly all the classes

included have an A next to the name of the class, except for a few. I have not been

concerned with whether I get a minus or plus alongside the grade, just what the letter

itself was. I have done my best in every class to try and always maintain an A, and I

was more than capable of doing so in most subjects. There are a few classes that

dipped down to a B, and it is evident that those few all involve math or science.

Chemistry, Physics, and Math 3 are the only courses that I did not receive an A in, and

the reasoning would be that I sometimes struggled with the concepts that were taught. I

truly did not understand chemistry, and just did my best to try and get a grade. The

case with physics would be the same, as I just did not understand it. I attempted my

best, but just was not able to grasp the concepts being taught. Math 3 is a class I

probably could have gotten an A in, but I was not really a fan of having to do so much
math and slacked off a little, causing my grade to drop. For the most part, I was able to

keep the As that I’ve always worked hard for, but there have been a few times when I

just did not understand what I was learning about.

In terms of attendance, I have rarely ever missed school. My mother never let

me stay home as a young student unless I was really sick, so I just learned it was better

to just go and get it over with unless I truly couldn’t. I have missed probably less than

five days total throughout all of high school, and I am proud of being able to say that.

The few times I can remember being absent include when I had a concussion from

playing football and my head was hurting extremely bad, and also career day of senior

year. I chose to miss career day because I did not feel it was that important and had

already gone through it before. I have missed periods due to appointments, but never

skipped a class just because I wanted to. I also have only been tardy one time, which

was during my senior year. That was the first time that I had ever woken up late for

school, and I remember just how panicked I felt having to call my mom because I knew

she would be mad. To me it is easier to just go to school compared to missing or

skipping, so I’ve always gone to class and been on time.

By taking a look at my transcripts and attendance, it shows how consistent I am

and my ability to work hard. My grades have remained good for all four years, with my

only Bs coming in classes that I didn’t understand or found difficult. My attendance has

stayed strong due to the fact that I think that it’s easier to just show up than have to deal

with all that comes with missing. Overall, I’d say that I’ve done a good job of being

present and completing all my work throughout the course of high school
