Using This Planner

This 12 Month Financial Success Planner is laid out with two pages per month. On one page you
will find a calendar where you can fill in the days, as well as a small list of promises I’ve laid out to
help guide you on your journey for 30 days. On the next page will be an area where you can make
notes, record thoughts, and reflect back on your accomplishments and areas of improvement for the
coming months.

Each month, take a few minutes to review the promises section and add anything more to the list of
items you’d like to accomplish. There are several helpful items in each list every month, and you do
not need to complete all of them in order to consider that month an achievement. Just accomplishing
a few will help you gain more financial growth and success over the year.

On some months I have added fun ‘Challenges’ for you, such as the Savvy Savings Challenge in March,
where each day of the month encourages you to put aside some cash that will add up to an extra
$500 in your pocket by the end of the month.

2
Why Planning Leads To Success
You are 42% more likely to complete your promises to yourself if you write them down.

There is a reason that I am a firm believer in making yourself promises, instead of setting goals.
Promises speak to your morals and to your personal values.

“It’s a lot easier to skip out on a ‘goal’ of meeting

someone for happy hour at 7pm than it is to break a
promise to someone that you’ll see them at that time.”

Beyond that, writing these promises down or looking at them daily or even weekly leads to increased
motivation. If you’ve ever heard, “Where your focus goes, your energy flows,” it’s completely true, and
you can prove it to yourself this year.

This doesn’t always mean it’s easy. Most of the time, you have to replace bad habits with good habits,
and things become habits in the first place because your brain loves patterns and routines. This
means that for a short period of time you need to disrupt the natural course your brain wants to take
and convince it to keep trying something new until that becomes the habit instead.

Make it easier for yourself with this guide by reviewing the clear benchmarks, reviewing the monthly
list of promises, adding your own, and completing challenges. Celebrate each win, no matter how
big or how small, and you’ll notice how much more fun it becomes to do something that you initially
thought would be ‘work’.

Whether you start this in January, or put the planner into use halfway through the year, the promises
and challenges will work for you and help get you focused on the financial success you’ve been
striving for.

To demonstrate one of the many ways you can use this planner to make it work for you, I’ve included
a page that I’ve filled out below. This is just a simple reference guide, and you should feel free to use

The best way to set yourself up for success is to visualize your achievements for the year at the very
beginning. Imagine how you’ll feel when you’ve accomplished what you’ve set out to do.

You can check your credit score for free online using a variety of services. Once you do this, start to
record your paycheck dates and due dates for any bills you need to pay monthly.

Write down a few words of encouragement for yourself that you can look back on as you challenge
yourself throughout the year:

Save Money

Stay Connected & Accountable
I have put together a Facebook Group you can join in order to help you find an accountability partner
and keep you updated with monthly check-ins.

We all know that it’s easier to try and do something in a group than it is to try and do it alone, which
is why this group will help support you every step of the way. It’s completely optional, but if you do
choose to join, you can invite your friends, ask questions, and check-in with anybody else who is
completing this success planner on their own.

Financial goals are something we should all help each other achieve, because we all deserve the
comfort and stability we want in life.
