The Impact of Fitness Exercise in My College Life

One of the subjects I liked eversince is Physical Education because for me, it is where fun and

excitement begins. This subject makes me really hyperactive all the time. All of a sudden,

college life introduced me a new portal that describes PE as a tool to attain a physically fit and

healthy body. This semester, my world revolved in the two words namely fitness and exercise.

I'm not really fond of exercising but as time passed by, I found it interesting. Eventually, I began

to value the essence of exercising which led me to be aware on the importance of fitness

exercise in my daily life.

I welcomed this subject with full of enthusiasm. Thus, I'm always ready and eager to know the

new things that I will discover and learn. For a warm up, I'm equipped once again with the

insights regarding the health related physical fitness and skilled related fitness. I have a little

prior knowledge about that back then but now, I became fully aware on the various physical

activities related to those components of physical fitness. Likewise, I realized that I should give

importance to my physical fitness because it helps me to be physically fit and active. Moreover, I

had a good time in performing different activities related to the components of skill related

fitness. My skills leveled up enabling me to move quickly, swiftly, and powerfully. The next thing

I enjoyed the most in this subject was using different gym equipmets. In my own perception, it

was an achievement to handle those kind of things especially for a girl like me who is not really

a fan of exercising. I remember being happy while performing the different muscular strenght

and endurance exercises with the presence of weights. I also discover the proper ways of

stretching in terms of flexibility. This helped me avoid injuries while doing a workout. Most
importantly, the best thing that I learned is the benefits given by those fitness exercises in my

health. It led me to discover the essential role that they play in order to aid my body to have

stronger bones and flexible joints that'll help me fight diseases.

It is significant to know the value of fitness exercise in one's life. So, as an individual, I will

always bear in mind all the activities and experiences I learned in this subject and apply it in my

daily life. I had so much fun while learning and I had built a foundation for me to have a strong

and healthy body in the near future.

The Essentiality of Exercise Learned by Mariel M. Roldan


Exercise is an activity that we, people, is necessary to perform for us to have physically fit body

and enjoy life for a long time. It is also one way of releasing our stress and relax ourselves. And

with the help of our P.E class I able to know the other side of exercise.

At first my only knowledge about exercise is that, it can burn the calories we have in our body

which makes us not so physically fit. But as I undergo with our P.E class, I learned a lot about it.

First, it introduced to me the components of physical fitness which is divided into five health

and six skill- related components. Here, I’ve discover that when we do exercise or just doing

physical activity there are particular muscles and ability are being enhance within us. Like when

we are doing a one leg stand our ability to balance ourselves is being developed or when we are

performing a jump rope drill, our ability to use all our senses together is being practice. From

this, I note to myself that, before performing any exercise I should first consider what parts of

my body I am going to developed. Second, our P.E class open my mind in different exercises

which is under the category of strength training exercise with and without weights. In this topic,

I able to appreciate the power of gym and other fitness center that contributes in transforming

a specific person into more physically fit. Because here, we performed exercises where we used

various gym equipment which are available in our school. And after performing those exercises,

I suddenly feel good about myself. It’s like something has release on me. That’s why, I told in

myself that if I already have the resources to enter a fitness center, I will go for it. Then last our

P.E class taught me to appreciate the exercises which makes our body flexible. Because

according to American Council on Exercise (ACE), this kind of exercise are mostly neglected by

people. Knowing this, it motivate me to help in promoting this kind of training exercise.
With all this learnings, I appreciate more the importance of exercise. And being a person who is

not so physically fit, I got inspired and become passionate to achieve the fitness goal that I want

for my body.

Reflection Paper

Health begins in the context of our everyday lives, including in the places we live, eat, work and

play. Health is not just about the absence of disease, but also the physical, mental and social
wellbeing (Scully, 2004). As some people may think physical education is just throwing the ball

out and telling the kids to play. Although what they don't know is Physical Education deals with

many different aspects, whether it be teaching someone to eat right or funding youth programs.

Nutrition is a big part of Physical education. Nutrition can help with your mental, physical and

social skills. Body dissatisfaction has a big part of your nutrition. If a person does not like how

they look then they tend to have healthier eating habits because they are trying to lose weight.

If people like the way they look then sometimes they lose track of what they are eating and eat

unhealthy food and they begin to gain weight. Physical education also teaches us different ways

in which to stay mentally and physically sound. This gives us many different ways to work out

and stay in shape whether physically hurt or not.

In August 2018, it was the first time I attend to the class of physical education 1 in college. I

have not taken PE class for a long time after I graduated from secondary school. I am curious

and confuse about why we need to have PE class in college. However, I found that this class of

physical education is an opportunity for me to do exercise. I am thankful that there was this

subject Physical Education just as similar in our high school subject.

PE 2 was not difficult. It is for self-testing activities. Doing some stretching, gymnasts, exercises,

and dumbbells are enjoyable and relaxing. My Physical Education experience is fantastic thanks

for my professors that I could still able to maintain and contribute my good physical, mental,

social and emotional health. It helps me to test my skill related fitness my agility my balance my

coordination my power my speed . it also provide me with my fellow students equal


opportunity to create, learn, enjoy and participate in skill development through a variety of

physical activities that have lifelong value.

Reflection Paper

Our body is one of our best asset. It gives us life and make us alive. Our body functions in every

aspects. But what if our body stop on working? What if because of our unhealthy routines it

become weak?
Lots of things help us to realize that we need to take good care of our body as well as our selves.

We need to invest for our selves. People must have a balance diet. A balance diet because we

must not only eat nutritious food however we need to perform activities and excercises that will

make our body stonger and healthy.

In our subject Physical Education, it discussed every bits and pieces regarding to fitness and how

to become physically fit. It taught us what are the benefits if we take it seriously. We learned the

rules and regulations when performing the exercises. It broaden my knowledge and become

more aware why do we need to be physically fit. This subject also taught us on how to build

team work and friendships.

This subject also teach us lessons that we can apply in our life.
