A. READING
Understanding the meaning in short written discourse in both functional and simple essays in the
form of descriptive (descriptive, procedure and report) and narrative (narrative and recount) in
the context of everyday life.
Basic Competence (KD)
Understand the meaning of short functional written texts such as short messages,
announcements, greeting cards, labels, advertisements, brochures, personal letters, etc.) and
simple essays in the form of descriptive (descriptive, procedure and report) and narrative
(narrative and recount) in the context of daily life by identifying :
- Main ideas (title, theme, subject matter)
- Written detailed information
- Implicit information
- Word reference
- Meaning of words, phrases and sentences (including vocabulary, grammar and other linguistic
characteristics related to the type of text and theme)

A. WRITING
Reveal the meaning in written short functional texts and simple essays in the form of descriptive

everyday life.
Basic Competence (KD)

(narrative and recount) in the context of everyday life by identifying:
- main ideas (title, theme, subject matter)
- written detailed information
- implicit information
- word reference
- meaning of words, phrases and sentences (including vocabulary, grammar and other linguistic
characteristics related to the type of text and theme)

- Students can find the main ideas
- Students can find factual information
- Students can find detailed information
- Students can find word references
- Students can determine the meaning of words / phrases / sentences in discourse
- Students can determine implied information
- Students can complete paragraphs with appropriate vocabulary
- Students can arrange random words into meaningful sentences
- Students can arrange random sentences into meaningful paragraphs
The question above is a matter of how to find main ideas in a text, if it is adjusted or matched
with the skl (graduate competency standard) and the indicators above, then the following
example questions are valid, because the questions from the above text immediately ask what the
main idea is, where to know the main idea of a text, the reader must understand the meaning of
the text (in accordance with graduate competency standards).
Students should be able to work on the questions above, because the questions tested are in
accordance with the SKL (graduate competency standards). Depending on the ability of students
to work on the above questions, it is because each student has a different level of intelligence.
If there are students who cannot answer, there are two possibilities. First, when the teacher
explains this material in the learning process students do not pay attention so that when this
question is tested the student cannot do it. Second, the material taught by the teacher during the
learning process is not in accordance with graduate competency standards, so students cannot
work on the problem when tested. It is not in accordance with number eleven, that is, students
