How to Make Iced Tea

Well, students, now I want to tell you how to make a glass of tea. I think all of you have
made iced tea by yourself, haven’t you? How did you find it? Of course, it’s very easy.
By the way, what materials do we need to make it? We need a glass of tea, two spoonfuls
of sugar, and some ice cubes. Right. Let’s make it together. First, make some strong tea,
and then pour it into a glass until the glass is about three-fourths full; remember not too
full; then add two spoonfuls of sugar and stir it, and what next? Put the ice cubes into the
glass and serve it. Yeah, it’s very fresh.

- Brainstorm the topic. Showing a picture of famous person, and ask the students,

him/her? allow them to describe their feeling about it. Next, give feedback, and
explain what they can learn today is about descriptive text, “describing someone”.

- Teacher explains to the students how to construct a sentences using have and has

in describing someone
- Teacher show the famous’ person pictures, and the students describe it as much as
possible.
- Teacher asks for one student to be volunteer and the teacher gives some question.
Teacher arranges the students answer become a descriptive text and explain the
generic structure of it.
- Teacher divided students into pair work, and then describe the physical
appearances of their pairs
- Teacher observes the students in describing his friends, and identifies their
mistakes.
- Teacher gives a games “whispering”, divide the students into two groups, they
will be whispering the sentences that teacher show to them to their friends beside
him consecutively. And the last students will write down on the white board, the
group can write down first and correct on the whiteboard can get the prize
- Teacher gives feedback and conclude the material.

- The teacher explains the phrase of expression asking for and giving things.
- Teacher gives some vocabulary about nouns around the class and the home, and
several adjectives which related with the topic.
- Teacher gives a dialogue and asks for the students to look for the new or difficult
words in the dialogue
- Teacher asks for the students to identify and underlined several expression of
asking for and giving things in the dialogue.
- The students present the expression of asking for and giving things which they
found in the dialogue and teacher gives feedback from the students’ explanation.
- Teacher divides the students into pair work and gives instruction to all pairs to put
things in their bags
- Based on the content which they have got in their bag, each group compose a
dialogue which it contain expression of asking for and giving things
- Teacher ask for several pairs randomly to present the dialogue in front of the class

Standard competence : Responding the meaning of short functional dialogue in form of
giving critizicing in daily life context and to access knowledge

Basic Competence : Responding to the meaning transactional and interpersonal


conversation accurately, smoothly and accepted related to nearer
environment using expressing opinion.

Indicators : Doing several Speech act in spoken transactional and


interpersonal: Expressing opinion.

Objectives : Students are expected to be able to express how to asking and


giving opinion
Teaching Method : Think pair share
Teaching media : Pictures, realia
Learning Procedures :
Pre activity (10 minutes):
- Teacher greets, checking attendants, and give motivation to all students
- Brainstorm the topic, teacher show a laptop/notebook and ask the students, do you
know what is this?, and what do you think about the Laptop/notebook, allow them
to describe their feeling and about it. Next, give feedback, and explain what we
can learn today is about using the expressions of asking and giving opinion.

Main activity (65 minutes):

- The teacher explains the phrase of expression asking and giving opinion.
- Teacher gives some vocabulary about nouns around the class and the home, and
several adjectives which related with the topic.
- Teacher gives a dialogue and asks for the students to look for the new or difficult
words in the dialogue
- Teacher asks for the students to identify and underlined several expression of
asking or giving opinion in the dialogue.
- The students present the expression of asking and giving opinion which they
found in the dialogue and teacher gives feedback from the students’ explanation.
- Teacher divides the students into pair work and gives one picture of nouns around
the class and the home to each pair.
- Based on the picture which they have got, each group compose a dialogue which
it contain expression of asking and giving opinion
- Teacher ask for several pairs randomly to present the dialogue in front of the class
- Teacher identify the students pronounciation, gramatical, and give feedback.
- Teacher gives a games which the students describe what their feeling about a
nouns which teacher has write in a paper and after the students describe the
characteristics they will guest what the hidden noun in back of paper

Post activity (15 minutes):

- Teacher gives a picture and chooses random two students to expressing asking
and giving opinion, and concludes the materials.
- Teacher identifies their pronunciation, grammatical, gives feedback and
completely the students answer.
- Teacher ends the lesson.
