Woman: I’m new in town. Is there a post office near here?

Man: Yes, there is. Do you know the big shopping centre in Alley road?
Woman: Albie road?
Man: No, no. Alley road.
Woman: Do you mean the new shopping centre with the café and the swimming pool?
Man: Yes, that’s it. It’s actually got two swimming pools. Anyway, there’s a post office in
that shopping centre. Now, let me think. I think it’s between the bookshop and the
bank.
Woman: OK, thank you.
Man: No, wait. The bank is next to the Chinese restaurant and that’s not near the post
office. The post office is between the bookshop and the chemist’s.
Woman: That’s great. Thank you very much.

Presenter
This week we’re visiting the largest country in the world. That’s right, Russia! The capital of
Russia is, of course, Moscow. Its population is about nine million and it’s got the most crowded
underground in the world. Three billion people use it every year. The longest railway is in
Russia. It travels from Moscow all the way to Vladivostok.
That’s 9,310km! Another Russian city is beautiful St. Petersburg. Some people call it the ‘Venice
of the North’. Russia’s highest mountain is Mount Elbrus in the south west, but that’s not the
coldest place in the world. Some of the coldest places are in Siberia in the north east of the
country. Russia is truly an amazing country.

its kind. Very exciting. This is what our lives will be like in the future.”
Conrad: That’s the problem, Flora, I don’t like films about the future.
