JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Security Officer

Department : Finance

Reports to : Director Finance

Main purpose of post : To organise, co-ordinate and

monitor the activities of Security
Personnel, ensure that law and
order are maintained, to protect
employees and the property of the
scheme from loss and damage.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Grade 12 with advanced Police training with 4 years experience.

KEY OUTPUTS OF POST

OUTPUT : Supervised patrols

DEFINITION : Systematic supervision of patrol of boundaries,

fences, storage areas, works and office buildings
etc. to ensure that property is adequately
protected.

OUTPUT : Patrol

DEFINITION : Inspections of property and installations and

ensures that property is adequately protected.

OUTPUT : Theft investigation/ report

DEFINITION : Investigates and compiles reports on all reported

cases of theft of property and submits the same to
superior for action.

OUTPUT : Improvement recommendations

DEFINITION : Recommends to Superior ways and means of

improving security system and controls in order to
reduce theft of property.

OUTPUT : Follow up actions

DEFINITION : Receives daily occurrence reports from
subordinates and attends to them accordingly but
refers complex cases to Senior Security Officer for
action.

OUTPUT : Assigned tasks

DEFINITION : Conducts parades of Sergeants, Corporals, Lance

Corporals and Security Guards and checks for
soberness, cleanliness etc. and assigns them
necessary daily routine duties.

OUTPUT : Supervised contractors

DEFINITION : Conducts night patrols and inspections to ensure

and confirm that Security personnel hired from
Security firms to guard Fund houses flats and
buildings are in their beats.

OUTPUT : Court evidence

DEFINITION : Attends Court hearings on criminal cases involving

outsiders and gives evidence as required in Court
of Law.
