JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Systems Analyst

Department : Information Technology

Reports to : Systems Development Manager

Main purpose of post : To design appropriate systems for the

organisation. To maintain these systems in
accordance with user requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Degree in Computer Science with experience 3 years or Higher National

Diploma in Information Technology with 7 years experience.

KEY OUTPUTS OF POST

OUTPUT : User Needs Analysis

DEFINITION : An analysis of the needs of users of systems to enable

appropriate and applicable systems development and
fine-tuning.

OUTPUT : System specifications

DEFINITION : Specifications for the development of new or the upgrade

of existing systems in accordance with organisational
requirements

OUTPUT : Compiled and implemented systems

DEFINITION : Systems compiled, implemented and debugged in

accordance with organisation and IT objectives.

OUTPUT : Compiled programs

DEFINITION : Software compiled in accordance with organisation need

and user requirements

OUTPUT : Resolved systems problems

DEFINITION : Resolution of general day-to-day system problems.

OUTPUT : Trained users

DEFINITION : Users trained in the correct use of systems, data entry,
interpretation, manipulation, etc.

OUTPUT : Updated software

DEFINITION : Software maintained, reprogrammed, updated according

to need.

OUTPUT : Ad-hoc reports

DEFINITION : Reports on trends, problems, etc in order to provide

information.
