Robotic Process Automation or RPA

Like AI and Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation, or RPA, is another

technology that is automating jobs. RPA is the use of software to automate business
processes such as interpreting applications, processing transactions, dealing with data,
and even replying to emails. RPA automates repetitive tasks that people used to do . These
are not just the menial tasks of a low-paid worker: up to 45 percent of the activities we do
can be automated, including the work of financial managers, doctors and CEOs.

Although Forrester Research estimates RPA automation will threaten the livelihood
of 230 million or more knowledge workers or approximately 9 percent of the global
workforce, RPA is also creating new jobs while altering existing jobs. McKinsey finds
that less than 5 percent of occupations can be totally automated, but about 60 percent can
be partially automated..

For you as the IT professional looking to the future and trying to understand technology
trends, RPA offers plenty of career opportunities, including developer, project manager,
business analyst, solution architect, and consultant. And these jobs pay well.
SimplyHired.com says the average RPA salary is $73,861, but that is the average
compiled from salaries for junior-level developers up to senior solution architects, with
the top 10 percent earning over $141,000 annually.
The physical robots have been rapidly replacing industrial, blue-collar jobs, software robots will
be replacing a high percentage of white collar jobs. So it is the need of hour that the Robotic
Process Automation specialist needs to know this RPA software orientation about installation,
structure (Flowchart vs. Sequence), control flow (Decisions, Loops, Switches), error handling
with Try/Catch, automating excel, word, and Portable Document File interactions, automating
email and attachments, decomposing a process into reusable sub-components and debugging
skills etc.

The Robotics can generate high-quality responses to more complex questions outside the routine
processes. AI techniques allow software to digest enormous amounts of research covering a huge
number of possible topics-far more research than any human could. To a client asking about the
outlook for the Chinese stock market, a "Chatbot” could have combined all the relevant
information, reply that there was a general consensus that the Chinese stock market would rise.
In fact, financial advisors, are increasingly coming under pressure from digital competitors
"Robo-Advisors”.

According to Brandon Buccowich(2016) from M/s. Laserfiche, the Robotic Process Automation
technology has many advantages including accuracy of operations, improving in employee
morale, increasing the productivity, make sure low technical barriers, compliance, consistency
leading to reliability and non-invasive technology. This expert had mentioned in detailed seminal
about RPA advantages as given below diagram Figure 1.

The beauty of robot process automation technology is that even non-technical employees will
have the tools available to configure their own software robots to solve their automation
challenges. He also added that RPA can bring immediate value to the core business processes
including payroll, employee status changes, new hire recruitment and on boarding, accounts
receivable and accounts payable, invoice processing, inventory management, report creation,
software installations, data migration, and vendor on boarding etc. to name a few.

Trend Micro: IoT brings innovation, but also threats
5G and IoT may mean more connectivity, but also more potential threats.

The growth of 5G and the Internet of Things may be helping to bring smarter and more
connected experiences and services around the world, but may also be expositng users to more
security worries.

Speaking to TechRadar Pro at the recent MWC 2019 event in Barcelona Kevin Simzer, chief
operating officer at security experts Trend Micro warned that the major upheaval caused by the
growing influence of 5G and IoT means consumers need to be on the lookout for new threats.

We see an infrastructure change coming (and) we know it's going to be done in order to offer
business benefits, he says, but it also introduces a new threat vector.

Simzer says that IoT is the third major scene change in recent times, following the virtualisation
of data centres 10 years ago and the popularisation of public cloud services which began a few
years ago.

What is 5G? Everything you need to knowTrend Micro Antivirus+ Security reviewSix principles
to secure the IoT
The company is now looking to utilise its 30 years of cybersecurity experience to help businesses
and consumers alike to stay on top of threats, having set up an IoT-specific division five years
ago.

Service providers recognise the IoT as an opportunity...but they also see it as a bit of a threat, he
says, pointing to recent research that suggests as many as 50 billion devices could be connected
to the IoT soon.

At MWC 2019 Trend Micro announced it would be looking to work with telco operators across
the world to supply its Consumer Connect product to ensure users are protected. The product
offers a complete suite of protection, Simzer says, combining endpoint protection, network
defence and data security capabilities.

We have tried to be a first mover in cybersecurity...we consider the bad guys, the hackers to be
our competitors, he notes.

“Increasingly, companies are suffering from security vendor fatigue...all our products work
nicely together. We see it as an opportunity to stop more bad guys, but ultimately do better from
a business standpoint too.

The company points to recent announcements in its home nation of Japan, where the government
has ruled on introducing basic security education and best practice in order to ensure consumers
stay safe online.

However Simzer notes that it also takes input from users, security vendors and the wider industry
in order to keep customers on top of the latest threats.

"We believe that even if everyone steps up, it's not going to be enough, he says, we can't rely on
one person, one company, or one thing, it's going to take all of us to step in."

India has the slowest 4G LTE speeds in the world
India has the slowest 4G LTE speeds in the world.

India may be slow because of its network congestion but has 86.26% availability.

India ranked last out of the 88 countries that were on the list with an average 4G LTE speed of
6.07 mbps. Though disappointing, its an improvement from last years report where Indias
average speed was 5.14 mbps with 81.56% coverage.

OpenSignal reported that network congestion was the primary reason behind Indiasunder
performing speeds.

While having 86.26% coverage of 4G, the country somehow still manages to have the slowest
speeds in the world as per OpenSignal State of LTE2018 report.

Globally, 4G LTE speeds have stagnated at approximately 45 mbps with the overall global
average at 16.9 mbps, which is an improvement over last years average of 16.6 mbps.
Availability of 4G signals, is measured by how consistently accessible 4G networks are in each
country in OpenSignal's report. Rather than focusing of geographic coverage, the company
focused on the proportion of time that the users have access to a particular network.

In the current report, India was ranked fourteenth in terms of available of 4G signals. Although it
was an increase in absolute coverage from last year, the country's rank slipped three places
(down from being eleventh in 2017).

Growth in availability has been attributed to Reliance Jio making 4G services more accessible
and contributing towards the telecom boom.

4G speed

Countries like India and Thailand, though providing far-reaching access to LTE signals, lack the
capacity to deliver speeds that are any higher than 3G networks.Â

Most of the countries that have speeds greater than the global average of 16.9 mbps are small
European nations with small populations. The bottom half of the ranking in OpenSignals report
mostly include nations that have large populations and thus, bigger mobile subscriber bases. This
includes India, Indonesia and even the United States of America.

Speed depends on a myriad of factors such as how much of the spectrum is actually devoted to
LTE, whether new 4G technologies have been employed, how dense a particular network is and
how much congestion occurs on those networks.

Countries with high speeds are using LTE-Advanced networks combined with greater proportion
of LTE-Advanced capable devices.

India is all set to launch 5G by 2020. This next generation of connectivity is going to be even
faster leaving each every successive generation of smartphones obsolete. Since change is the
only constant, at least were headed in the right direction.
