Cub Cheers: Congratulations to the Mr. Orth’s students they did our
Announcements last Friday and were fabulous! Congratulations to the
following students for outstanding behavior and earned the Cox Cub of
the Week: Elias Hillstead, Jinxi Li, Janelise Rangel, Hunter Salidas,
Sadie Price, Vuk Pantovic, Anaiyah Diaz, Chantz Watts,
Zanzibar Cardoza, Emma Franze, James Case, Giovanni Fuentes,
Marceline Kayembe, Jazlene Marin, Brian Galvan, Gavin Stout,
Justyn Benitez, and Justin Martin.

Teacher Request Not Accepted: April 30th was the final day to submit
a teacher request for the 2019-2020 school year. Hand delivered letters
or emails will no longer be accepted. Class lists will be mailed the last
week in June and will include the classroom supply list. Newsletter
and supply lists will also be posted on Class Dojo and our website.

Thank you Families: We had a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week last week thanks to our awesome PTA and our
students and families! Thank you for celebrating our teachers and staff! We were spoiled! A BIG SHOUT OUT to
Mrs. Verbeck she gave up her day off to provide massages to the teachers on their breaks! It was wonderful and so
relaxing! Also a BIG SHOUT OUT to the Camuso Family who gave our staff show tickets, it was a lot of fun and very
generous!

PTA & SOT News: Thank you to the PTA Board Members for serving on our school’s PTA and SOT! A welcome goes out
to our new Board members we are looking forward to a great school year coming up! Thank you to the PTA for funding 1/2 of
our office copy machine and for providing funding to our GATE Program for AstroCamp in the Fall. Our SOT and PTA
meetings are finished for the year. Next meetings will be in August. We had 265 yellow parent surveys returned, thank you
families. We will begin tallying those and those results will be posted in the final newsletter next week.

Mothers & Muffins: A big thank you to all our mothers, grandmothers, and aunts who were able to join us on Monday for
Mothers and Muffins in the MP Room. It was a nice turn out and great to see our mothers being celebrated by our kiddos.

Meet Up & Eat Up: Text SUMMERNV to 877-877 or visit freesummerfood.org for information on kids and teens getting no
cost meals over the summer break. There is no registration needed and the flyer is posted on Class Dojo and our website.
Next Week is Final Week of School: School is dismissed on Thursday, May 23rd at 12:40 in the afternoon. There will be
no specials that day and no lunch. All school materials should be sent home on Wednesday, with the exception of their report
card folder.

End of Year Information:

 Students eat lunch outside on Monday and Wednesday
 School is out 5/23 at 12:40 pm
 Staff final day is 5/23
 Report cards are given on the final day of school. If your child is absent, their report card will be mailed
 Class and supply lists will be mailed home the final week of June. *If we don’t have your correct address – you will
not get your list until August
 All “leftover” items from students will be stored in building until the end of August then donated
 The office is closed beginning 6/21 – 7/26 and reopens on 7/29
 The office hours will be 6:00 am until 12:00 pm beginning 5/28/19
 The office will be open from 5/23 – 6/21 (summer hours will be posted on front doors)
