Practica No3: MATERIAL DE AISLAMIENTO Y
CONDENSACIÓN
Until this moment, this closure doesn’t present an isolation material layer. For this
reason, you propose to put an expanded polystyrene layer of 3 cm of width
inside the air chamber. It’s necessary to check this solution from the thermal and
hygrometric point of view.
The values of the ambient condition parameters (inner and outer) are the next:
Outer Temperature – Te
Outer Relative Humidity – He
Inner Temperature – Ti
Inner Relative Humidity – Hi
(*) NOTE:
➢ In relation with the CTE-DB-HE, for a slightly ventilated air chamber it will
be considered the middle of the values of the thermal resistances for a
non ventilated chambers of the same width.
➢ For no ventilated air chambers with width higher than 5 cm, it will be
necessary to take the value 0.16 m2ºC/W (as total).
➢ The vapour resistance of the air chamber is 5,5 MN s/gm (per unit of
width).
QUESTIONS
1. Value of thermal transmittance of the roof.
2. Calculation of the vapour air resistance of the roof and analyse the possibility
of superficial and interstitial condensation production.
4. When the solar radiation is maximum, the outer temperature of the closure is
equal to Tse’. In these conditions and applying the stationary heat flow
hypothesis, calculate the reduction percentage of the heating power that
maintains the inner temperature as 20ºC.

DESARROLLO
1. Valor de la transmisión térmica del techo.
Primero calculamos la resistencia térmica del techo, que la suma de todas las
resistencias térmicas de cada capa:
𝑅𝑇 = ∑ 𝑅𝑖 + 𝑅𝑠𝑒 + 𝑅𝑠𝑖
𝑊
𝑈𝑇 = 0.79 [ ]
m2ºC
2. Resistencia a la difusión de vapor de aire en el techo
𝑅𝑣𝑇 = ∑ 𝑅𝑣𝑖
𝑅𝑣𝑖 = 𝑟𝑣𝑖 ∗ 𝑒𝑖
Δ𝑇 = 17.5 [°𝐶]
