I - Observation

At the end of 60-minute period, 85% of the students should be able to:

A. Recall the meaning of active recreation

B. Identify the dance styles whether it is under hip-hop dance or street dance.

C. Understand the role of active recreation in individual’s health.

II - Subject Matter

Topic: STREET AND HIP-HOP DANCE STYLES

Reference: Physical Education and Health Module, Pp. 114-116

Materials: Laptop,short video downloaded from YouTube, blackboard,


manila paper, cartolina, chalk.

Subject Area Integration: Physical Education and Health 10

Value Integration : You don’t need to spend much just to become healthy, all you
have to do is to commit yourselves in active recreation.

Daily Routine:

 Prayer
 Checking of Attendance
 See to it that chairs are properly arranged,well – ventilated facility
 The lights are checked

III - Development of the Lesson

A. Preliminaries

1. Review of the previous lesson


Teacher will call at least 4 volunteer students to come in front and pick the
correct picture that will link to the word active recreation. After picking up the correct
picture showing different activity, the teacher will now ask her students to recall the
meaning of active recreation.

2. Motivation

The teacher will present a movie of STEP UP 4 which is downloaded from


YouTube.

3. Presentation of Lesson and objective

After watching the movie, each student will get their lecture notebook and start
answering the following questions written on the Manila paper.

1. What dance form is shown in the movie?

2. What is a street dance?

3. What is a hip-hop dance?

4. What particular movements/ steps strike you? Show them

5. Can street dance and hip-hop dance improve fitness? How?

6. Can we use street dance and hip=hop dance as our recreational activity?

B. Lesson Proper

Discussion will be based on students answer on their previous activity. The teacher
will also give insights, correction, clarification, further explanation and additional
information to the topic.

C. Formative Assessment

The teacher will use PowerPoint presentation for the next activity. She will group her
students into 5 with 8 members each. She will ask her students to identify the name of
dance styles whether it is under hip-hop or street dance. The answer of each member will
be written in a ready-made cartolina sheet to be posted on the board. The first group who
will get the highest score will declare as the winner.
