To Whom It May Concern:
Karley Regehr was a PS Il student teacher at the Stirling School from August 29" — December 21",
2018. Stirling School is a K-12 school in a rural southern Alberta setting. Due to the fact that we are 4
‘small school, student teachers that come through our doors have a wide range of growing opportunities.
Karley’s teaching assignment consisted of English 10, Language Arts 9, co-teaching a junior high option
and one class period a week with a Language Arts 7 class. She also covered a variety of classes for
teachers when they were in meetings.
One of many of Ms. Regehr’s strengths was her ability to organize herself on paper and in the classroom
Her growth plan was detailed and submitted early. Her PIP project grew out of a need within our Drop
Everything And Read period, where she recognized that we had a number of reluctant readers. She
Surveyed students and found high interest books for them. She provided them with different reading
strategies to help them successfully through their books. The website she created was filled with
research-based materials that she will continue to add to and leave behind for our teachers to utilize.
A venture that Ms. Regehr experienced while at our school was ‘Flex Fridays’. Because of our school
size, option classes are limited. To alleviate this, we instituted Flex Fridays for our junior and senior high
school students. Karley offered physical activities as one of her Fridays and creative writing classes for
her second Friday. Both were well attended and enjoyed by all who signed up.
Karley worked hard on classroom management. She treated students fairly and expected them to be
the best that they could be. She grew in her skills throughout her internship and became comfortable
with a variety of discipline strategies.
Karley was involved in various duties including lunch hour supervision. Ms. Regehr was one of the main
grganizers for the Terry Fox assembly and run. She interacted well with students and staff of the Stirling
School.
Karley's contribution to our school was professional and positive. She has worked hard over the past
four months during her intemship and | would not hesitate recommending her for a teaching position
Good luck Ms. Regehr.
