How to improve organizational culture!

Organizational culture relates to the behaviours of a set of employees within the
same work environment:

 how they act and engage with the organization,

 the values they ascribe to these actions,
 And how employees engage with each other at work.

It relates to how well the employees understand the company’s mission, visions
and goals, something we like to call. Every employee in the organization should
know what the company wants to achieve, but these organizational
goals should also align with their own individual goals.
When the culture isn’t as strong, the alignment to company values isn’t quite so
clear. This means that more effort needs to be placed in controlling employees,
monitoring their behaviour and keeping them working as efficiently as possible.
The advantages of a good company culture are obvious. It means that less
monitoring is required by managers and team leaders, and that the work of the
employees is of a higher value to the company.

A company with a clear culture will be able to easily induct new employees into
the company’s set of beliefs and encourage ways of working that cohere to the
company’s goals and visions as a whole. Employees within a company with a
good culture are also more engaged, motivated to succeed and display more
loyalty, which can take the form of being less likely to leave the company and
being more likely to become an advocate of your company.

An increase in group cohesiveness is one of the most powerful by-products of a

good organizational culture. Employees know where they stand within
their teams and they trust everyone else to do a good job. They also feel valued
and that their contribution is important to the success of the business.

With a greater focus on collaboration and teamwork, you also create

opportunities for occur. In any work environment, only 10% of what your
employees learn comes from the formal training content – the rest they pick up
on the job and by interacting with their colleagues. And of course, the more
training your employees receive, the better they become at doing their jobs and
the more successful the company will be.

HOW TO IMPROVE ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE!

Provide your employees with an environment to let their opinion be heard.

Internet giant, Word Press, regularly hold. Meetings where these ideas are
exchanged between management and lower level employees.

Effectively communicate your organization’s mission, vision and values. The

sense of having shifts your employee’s mindset from cog in a machine to key part
of the team. Only 1 in 150 employees who say their organization does not have a
set of values are fully engaged.

Employees who say their organizational values are “known and understood” are
51 times more likely to be fully engaged than an employee who responds that
their organization does not have values that are known and understood. Our
employees are not just people who work for you; they’re an integral part of your
company’s success no matter what their role may be. With this, it is important to
remember to more to work hard. One way companies do this is by recognizing
and rewarding deserving employees so they’d be encouraged to do their best
every time.

One crucial step employers forget is hearing what the employees have to say.
For sure, you’ve hired the best out of those who submitted their resumes. You
made sure to accept those who are fitting for the job; these people have their own
ideas and or issues when it comes to your company. Hear them out, you’d never
know they might have ideas that can boost your company or that can resolve
existing issues. Collaboration is essential especially for growing companies, so
make sure to hear what they have to say!

Transparency with your employees is key way of building trust, leading to

improved corporate culture. A weekly post on about what’s happening at a
corporate level is a sure-fire way to inspire your team. Employees say bosses
sharing information and data have a significantly positive impact on productivity
and motivation. Organizational culture needs to be nurtured and this begins at the
very top of the ladder! Managers need to become leaders and visibly
demonstrate that they buy into the organizations core beliefs. This could be
achieved with CEO’s being at the forefront of your training programme with high
impact video introductions at the start of a training unit.

Employees need regular feedback if they are to align their performance with your
organizational culture. A once a year meeting just isn’t good enough! You should
praise the behaviour that matches your values and develop areas that need
improvement. Reward your employees for actions that best represent the
organizational culture that you seek. A recognition-rich culture will also reduce
turnover, giving your organizational culture longevity.

Company culture has evolved over time, but there are still those who practice
traditional company cultures.

There are problems with them though, such as how they usually treat their
employees, treating them as mere employees without artistic freedom, observing
regular working hours and expecting them to work in their desks all day long. This
comes as a problem for younger employees who mostly value artistic freedom
and leisure, these factors affect their ability and efficiency. Thus, it would be
better to offer Flexibility.A Company is made up of several people and conflicts
arise at times. It would be beneficial to initiate trust within the company. Resolve
conflicts immediately and fairly. Promoting trust boosts relationships in the
company greatly. Just like basketball, good teamwork wins the game. This can
be said when it comes to your company, with one goal and one vision, you
should strive hard to attain them together.
Good teamwork comes from a strong team relationship. Employers can initiate
such by organizing activities such as team building. A strong company culture
aligns perks with company values. That way, the perks represent an extension of
the company's underlying beliefs and not just something cool that helps with
recruiting. For example, one of our values is "You Are Unique." As a perk, we
give everyone a paid day off on their birthday to celebrate the fact that they are a
unique miracle who should be celebrated.

Great company culture has paved so many ways for companies especially in
recent years. It has helped in effective company management and has been
proven to be effective in boosting productivity. If large companies have used this
method, so can you. Make sure to use company culture to your advantage, utilize
it as a tool to bring your brand on top!
