This International conference on “Demographic Dividend: Skill Development
Challenges in India” discussed over the topics, Skill educational and Vocational

of younger generation and educators is necessary in the successful rendering of the
skill education in India and quality and value based education is necessary for India
for national development. The event provided a valuable opportunity for exchanging
national and international experiences on the main area of discussion and talk over
the future developments in the field.
Around 70 participants from different countries and different states of India,
including professors, research scholars, students and other academics together with
industry representatives had participated in this conference. The conference had cre-
ated a strong impact on the delegates regarding the soft skill challenges in India.The
conference has formulated an impression that this initiative will be a foundation for
many serious and objected oriented studies in this field and that will contribute to the
developmental activities of our country.

Pitura-Season 2, The Mega Painting Carnival

T
he Department has organized Pitura, the Mega Painting Carnival from February 5th
to 9th,2018. The carnival was inaugurated by College Principal Dr. A. Biju by paint-
ing a landscape. The Department has arranged the Carnival once before ans the suc-
cess last year inspired to organise the second season. The formal inaugural session was presided
over by head of the Department, Sri. Sam Kollannore U. Sri. Francis Xavier and Sri. Joseph
Deril, Staff Secretary, Muhammed Anaz and Muhammed Dhanish addressed the gathering.

pated in the Carnival. Around hundred
paintings were created from the carnival. An orientation session was organized on 5th February
2018. The orientation class lead by Sri. K. M. Hassan, Dr. A. Biju and Sri. Jiljith K. inspired
students in formulating ideas, techniques and styles in painting. The session was informative and
encouraging for students. The following four days, students immersed in the pool of colours.
New ideas came up, new techniques and styles emerged, new air for the campus materialized for

career opportunities in Animation. The session was highly informative and
interactive.
Morning session of career guidance for B Voc Logistics Management
students was handled by Mr.Onassis Lazar. The experiences shared by the
speaker created an inspiration among students. The afternoon session was
handled by Mr.Subeesh A.P. The vibrant deliverance of speaker make the ses-
sion interactive.
On 26th, session on Soft Skill Development were conducted and morning
and afternoon session were mentored byMr.Venkitachalm and Dr. V. Mohan-
das respectively. The sessions were highly interactive and had great impact
on students in the development of their communicative and soft skills. The
workshop received a good feedback from students.

he Department has organized two day workshop on Soft skill and
Career Development on September 25th and 26th, 2017. This work-
shop was inaugurated by the Head of the Department Mr.Sam Kol-
lannore at the New Block of the College. Dr. Manzur Ali P. P., IQAC Coor-
dinator, Sri. Joseph Deril, Staff Secretary, and Muhammed Anaz adressed the
gathering. As new generation course students of both courses need proper ori-
entation in Career choice. On 25th, career guidance programme was arranged
at the Seminar Hall of main block for B Voc Animation & Graphic Design
and at the Conference Hall, New Block for B Voc Logistics Management.
Morning sessions for B Voc Animation and Graphic Design students were
handled by Mr.Aneesh S. J., Assistant Professor in Designing and Freelance

in Graphic Design field. The session provided students with information and

and the friendly workshop style by Sri. Parameswaran Kallur. More over the
craft making using natural materials, he introduced some techniques in making

The workshop became lively as Sri. Parameswaran included some Malay-

from students of B Voc Animation & Graphic Design and B Voc Logistics

World Animation Day Observance and
Workshop on Claymation

W
orld Animation Day was observed by the
Department. As part of the celebrations,
a workshop on Claymation and painting
and drawing competition for Higher Secondary Students.
Prakriti were organized. The official inauguration was done
by Sri. M. T. Jayalal, Academy Award winning Sculptor.
The function was presided over by Dr. A. Biju, Principal.
Sri. Sam Kollannore welcomed the gathering. Students of
our department, who represented India and their coach Sri.
Haneefa K. G. were honoured in the function. Dr. Manzur
Ali P. P., Sri. Haneefa K. G., Sri. Muhammed Afsal and Sri.
Rajesh M. R. addressed the gathering.
The workshop was on Claymation is a new venture in
the campus. Students were trained in Plasticine which is
used to make clay sculptures for animation. Students got
good opportunity to get acquinted with a new technique in
their field. Students were very much enthusiastic to engage
in the sculpting process. For the workshop, students were
given prior classes on script writing and story develop-
ment. They were asked to formulate a story group wise and
write a script on that. The script was used as the reference
to make characters in clay. Prakriti, a competition on drawing and painting was
held along with Claymation workshop. The competition
was organized for higher secondary school students. Around
twenty students participated for each subject. Nature was the
theme for painting competion and My Village was the topic
for drawing competition. The students from various higher
secondary schools could get to know about the college and
new courses like ours.
Workshop on Claymation was a real inspiration for the
students to work with clay. The workshop is intended to
benefit for the second year students of B Voc Animation &
Graphic Design to impart in their curriculum of Animation
Techniques. From the feedback collected from students, the
session was very much informative and they got benefitted
from the class.

Contribution to eco friendly activities

T
he department used eco friendly materials for decora-
tion during the conduction of National Seminars and
other activities. Posters for Departmental programs
were made of ‘cotton cloth’ and ‘Panambe’ instead of Plastic flex.
Provided Energy conservation stickers all over the colleges for
initiating conservation of water and power. Environmental Day
was celebrated by the Department and planted trees by students
and teachers. MoU has been signed with the Department of Bio-
sciences for developing the video documentary on ‘Mazhathulli
Sambaranam’.

ONE DAY ACRYLIC PAINTING

WORKSHOP AT OBERON MALL

T
he Department has organized one day Acrylic painting work-
shop at Oberon Mall. Sri.Mohammed M A (MD, Oberon
Mall, Edappally) inaugurated the Workshop, on 30th De-
cember 2017 which was presided over by Dr. A Biju, (Principal, MES
College, Marampally). Artist Asif Ali Komu, (Director, Chithra Chandha
Project) welcomed the gathering. Sri.Sam Kollannoor U, (Head of the
Dept. of Vocational Studies), Artist Jimmy Mathew, Kottayam, and Artist
Kannan Chithralaya, Trissur and Ms. Arya V V, (Students Coordinator,
Department of vocational Studies, MES College, Marampally) adressed
the gathering. Acrylic Painting Workshop was counducted by Sri. Rajesh
M R, Tutor, Department of Vocational Studies. Youngsters from various
places and from various institutions participated in the workshop.

Intercollegiate Animation, Cartoon, Caricature Workshop
Cartoon and Caricature drawing. Along with that he also in-
troduced how animation can be created in caricature drawings
easily.
The workshop provided the students to experiment with
anything comes under their observance. The method of cari-
caturing a person, how to emphasize special features etc. were
discussed elaborately. The students were given exercises and
corrected them within the workshop time period itself. Around
seventy students and more than twenty five staff members got
benefitted from the workshop.

Intercollegiate workshop on Animation,
Cartoon and Caricture was organized by
the Department on 1st February 2018. Sri.
Badhusha who is commonly known as Cartoonman inaugu-
rated the workshop which was presided over by Dr. A. Biju,
Principal, MES College, marampally. The workshop was
mentored by Sri. Badhusha, Vice Chairman, Kerala Cartoon
Academy and Artist Sri. K. M. Hassan.The Inaugural session
was blessed with the presence of Dr. manzur Ali P. P, IQAC
Coordinator, Sri. Murugan R., Sri. Sam Kollannore and stu-
dents from various institutions.
The workshop handled training in cartoon and caricature
drawing intraditional methods. Students and teachers and
non teaching staff including Principal actively participated
in the programme. The second session was handled by Sri.
Badhusha. The session dealt with inclusion of softwares in
