Detail Contents of Training Program

(Training Duration: 75 Hrs.)

 Introduction of PDMS Administration – Introduction of project creation, master data base (MDB).
Module monitor, design, spooler, draft, isodraft, paragon (CATA), specon, propcon, lexicon, admin. Creating
setting up new project, users, passwords, multiple data base (MDB), data base (DB) etc.
 Introduction of PDMS Design – PDMS applications & opportunities. Basics2D & 3D drawings concept, co-
ordinates, directions, positioning, plot plan layout with respect project, hierarchy worl, site, and zone. Design
explorer, members, command line, navigates element, axes display &settings, model editor, middle button
functions, saved views, screen center, window settings, general screen introduction & commands. Display design
explorer, command line, members. Screen adjustment. Use of function keys, wired frame & rotate view. Adding,
removing & deleting sites, zones, components, different types of views, different types of distance measurement,
Unit file settings. Different level positions of element. General graphic settings, representation & Color Settings,
color rule. Create list commands and types etc.

 Equipment Modeling – Creating customize equipment’s by primitives, creating standard equipment’s,


equipment by templates for e.g. heat exchangers, coolers, pumps, distillation column, storage tanks, reactors,
dryers, centrifuge etc. User’s equipment & nozzle specification, orientations & customization. Equipment
hierarchy, modifications, positioning, properties, attributes, mirror, offset, copy rotate. Dragging/moving
equipment by model editor. Negative extrusion of primitives/shapes, equipment supports, pdms equipment
shortcut commands, equipment clash detections etc.

 Structure& Civil Work – Creating structure, framework, and sub framework as per hierarchy. Creating
beams columns &section as per international specification and standards for e.g. British std., American std., DIN,
Japanese std., Euro norms std., SWE std. etc. Create straight, curved, ring, bracing configuration, sections, joints,
spilt, material, fittings, Justification, creation by explicit position.

Creating panel & plates, specification, justification, std. plate specification, standard gratings specifications,
chequer plate, panel thickness, creation of panel explicit, derived by points, circular, hole penetration, square,
circular, slotted, properties etc.

Creating walls ofspecification brick wall, single leaf wall, cavity wall, concrete wall, wall justification, properties,
and height, types of wall straight wall, ring wall, wall fittings, doors, windows, fire extinguishers accessories,
electrical fittings etc. Floors of specification screened floor, slab, & their fittings furniture, anchor bolts. Creation
floors derived by points, explicit positioning etc.

Accessories Staircase Ladder (ASL)– Creation of platform by DIN beams, DIN channels, DIN angles, platform
openings, platform layout, platform layouts, platform geometry, platform definition, modification, platform
modification, platform shapes square, circular, L shape, octagonal. Creation of handrail, detailed side mounted,
floor mounted, handrail with panel, handrail termination, handrail geometry, handrail gates, handrail definition,
modification. Stair flight creation standard, curved trail, vertical curved trail with bars, alternating treads, concrete
treads, straight, L- shaped, S-shaped, U-shaped, stair flight modification etc.
Creation of ladder, side exit ladder, straight ladder, ladder specification, ladder definition, ladder plane, ladder
modification etc. Create stair tower, layout congregation, stair landing congregation etc.

 Pipe Work Modeling - Creation of pipe with different specifications &position, creation of branch with
different piping specifications/class/pms, position &connection types of explicit & connect method, pipe
attributes (pressure temperature data), insulation, tracing. Creation of different components with different
specifications by forward & backward method with auto connects. Replacing of components, difference between
spool & distance. Use of model editor, copy/offset of branch. Pipe routing, pipe slope/fall, and error checking.
Pipe split, piping shortcut commands, setting color rule for piping system as per services, piping quick isometric
drawing, bill of material. Piping clash detections etc.

 Instrumentation Modeling – Creation of branch for instrumentation, branch termination, adding ‘O’
fittings, swage & nipple, pressure, temperature, orifice, Rota meter, venture meter & level gauges, hook-up
drawings, isometrics, bill of material etc.

 Electrical Cable Trays Modeling – Creating electrical cable trays with specification, cable tray main,
branch, attributes, inserting components, auto connect, forward/backward method, through point routing, tray
distance, tray branch from tee/cross, tray openings and modifications with different fitting components,
specifications, position. Types of cable trays, clash detections of cable trays, cable tray isometric, bill of material
etc. Creation of cable ways & finding possible routes to cabling system.

 General Electrical – General electrical panel routings, conduits, electrical component, electrical equipment’s,
electrical switches, sockets in wall fittings etc.

 Hangers & Supports (PDMS Version 11.6) – Setting up default settings for generating different types
support on pipe rack & piping, modifying the hangers & supports, different types of equipment support.

 Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) – Creating HVAC system element, main branch
element, side branch (main branch off), HVAC shapes rectangular, circular, flat oval, transformations. HVAC
modification, inserting component arrive leave, HVAC isometric, bill of material.

 Isodraft (Isometric Drawing Generation Manager) – Isometric drawing production for piping,
instrumentation, electrical cable trays and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). Isometric drawing
settings & options files. Generation of bill of material. Export of isometric drawing to different file format for e.g.
PDMS to AutoCAD DXF file format.
 Draft (2D Drawing Generation Manager) – Draft hierarchy, department, registry, drawings, sheet,
views, layers etc. modifying view, graphics, draw list, style, directions, 3D view, and generating 2D view from 3D,
sectional views, creating dimensions & labeling, auto tagging, view alignment. Export of 2D drawing to different
file format for e.g. PDMS to AutoCAD DXF file format.

 Reports Generation – Quick reports, report templates, reports exporting to text file .txt, spread sheet excel
format, nozzle repots, pipe, tube MTO, line list, steel MTO, import/export of PDMS site/zone/element to client
project status or report purpose etc.

 Quires & Resolution – General quires & resolutions. Training manual/guide book of Plant Design
Management System (PDMS).

 Sample Project Work - Working on sample project for 3D Modeling, Drawing and Bill of Material Generation
E.g. Onshore/Offshore Oil & Gas, Power plant, Chemical Process Plant.

“Navisworks Tool: Navisworks allows users to open and combine 3D models, navigate around
them in real-time and review, clash detection the model using a set of tools including
comments, redlining, viewpoint, and measurements. Linking Time liner and object Animation
together enables the triggering and scheduling of object movement based on start time and
duration of project tasks, and can help you with workspace and process planning”.

Detail Contents of Training Program


Training Program will be on latest version Navisworks Manage 2015.
• Introduction of Navisworks - Full Introduction and Strength of Software, the three Navisworks
versions, Navisworks file types, exporting from PDMS, SP3D, AutoCAD, Revit to Navisworks,
appending and merging models.
 Navigating in a Model - Using the View Cube, looking at the navigation bar, walking through
your model, using the Gravity tool, rotating your model with the orbit tool, looking around your
model.
 Working with Viewpoints - choosing render styles, changing the background, saving a viewpoint,
getting rid of lines and text, slicing your model using sectioning.
 The Review Tab - Creating redlines, finding the shortest distance between objects, getting
measurements.
 Dealing with Objects - Adding links, selecting objects, hiding and turning on objects, holding
objects, moving items, overriding color/transparency and a transform, rotating items/objects, scaling
items, viewing properties and adding fields.
 Sorting and Grouping - Finding items, saving selections as a set, the Selection tree, using the quick
find tool, using the selection inspector.
 Clash Detection - Creating a clash test and setting rules, selecting objects to clash and adding
clearances, running the clash, grouping and assigning clashes, resolving and reducing clashes,
creating reports viewpoints, creating reports HTML.
 The Time Liner - Configuring appearances, creating tasks, adding selection sets to a task, adding a
data source, adding multiple tasks and running the movie, exporting the Time Liner, Simulating
settings.
 Quantification - Setting up your workbook, dragging items to the workbook, exporting the takeoff,
taking off the entire model.
 Presenting, Animating, and exporting - Animating objects, animating saved viewpoints,
creating a script.
