Part A
Summarise what this software is, what it does, how it works.
Basically, this software monitor the usage of the internet by the employees. It uses a database of
websites categorised as unproductive, productive or neutral. The software compares between the
browsing history of the employees and its database to rate the employee.
What does this mean to the employer?
The meaning for the employer is a completely control over all usage of the internet by employees.
Therefore, it may be used to categorise all the employees leading to a better use of the company’s
resources and employee’s productivity.
What does this mean to the employee?
For the employees may be an intrusion and loss of their privacy. Also, it can be seen as an increase of
pressure.
What are the ethical issues involved?
It can be seen from two views. On one hand, employees have the duty to use properly all the company’s
resources and only for laboral purposes. One the other hand, employees as an individuals have the right
of privacy and an employee doesn’t give up on all of her or his privacy when they enter a workplace.

Code of Ethics
Purpose
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to sets standards for the development of activities at
the company. It provides a practical set of guiding principles to help all personnel to make
decisions in their day to day work, whatever they do and wherever they do it.
The primacy of the public interest
● Always the public interest have priority over personal.
● All Individuals will not consciously assume or accept a position in which personal interests
conflict with professional duty.
● All the individuals will protect the confidentiality and privacy information of the others.
The enhancement of quality of life
● All the individuals will perform their professional activities to encourage the health, safety and
wellbeing of the community and the environment.
● All the individuals will attempt to increase the feelings of personal satisfaction, competence, and
control of those affected by their work.
● All individuals will demonstrate respect for the others and seek to preserve and promote their
dignity, individuality, rights and responsibilities.
Honesty
● All the individuals will avoid to be engaged in any illicit and fraudulent practice.
● All the individuals will give proper credit to those who deserve it.
● All the individuals will distinguish between their professional and personal opinions and advice.
Competence
● All the individuals will
cooperate with others to achieve, understand and identify problems.
● All the individuals have the duty to inform employers or clients if a task requires qualifications

Code implementation
The area in charge of the implementation of the code is Human Resources. The main role
for this area is be responsible for ongoing review and development of the Code.
On commencement of employment and every twelve months, everyone who is employed by
the company must have clear the content of the Code of Conduct, to show that they
understand the principles of the Code, confirm that they have complied with them in the
previous 12 months and agree to comply with them going forward.
All breaches of the Code of Conduct will be recorded and reported in company’s policies and
procedures.
