The damage of the environment is a global problem that affects every city and neighborhood
across the world. What could young people do?}

One problem in big cities is the large amount of trash. Often, the trash ends in streets, lakes
or rivers. One possible solution would be provide recycling workshops in schools for
teenagers.

Another important problem is the air pollution provoked by cars or buses. One possible
solution would be encourage young people to move by bikes or even walking.

Construction is another source of pollution because often the constructors use green areas
of the cities. People could plan trees in their houses, schools or public areas (for example,
shopping centers or parking lots)

In brief, much of the local environment damage could be fixed if young people do things like
to recycle, change transportation habits or plant trees in order to increase green areas and
reduce air pollution.

ESSAY 2

Many people say that they get better results when they do things with others. Other people
say, on the other hand, that they prefer doing something on their own because there is less
chance for mistakes or they feel more comfortable.

At the school, for example, students get better results when they work with others because
often they feel the learning process as a competition: when their classmate gets a good
remark, the student word harder than before, ir order to get similar good results. However,
some students feel uncomfortable with that, and they prefer learning alone because the think
work alone is a good way to express themselves.

Sports is another good case. In soccer, for example, it’s more important to have a trong
bond between teammates than to have a good individual player. Argentina’s national team,
for example, has many good players (Messi, Rojo) however, had showed poor results in the
last FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Work place is another good example. Workers normally do things on their own because is a
good way to show their skills and eventually, get a promotion. However, many researches
has shown that when people work with others, the productivity increase.

In brief, despite the fact that many people think is better do something on their own because
is more effective or comfortable, the true is that do things with others get better results in
almost every activity.

INFORMAL LETTER

Hi Jack!

I’m glad to hear about you and your friends, and i’m so excited because your arrival is in a
couple of weeks.

I have many ideas about what to do and where place we could going to.

I think our best option is to visit the two most famous places in BA: La Boca and Palermo. In
La Boca, a colorful neighborhood in the southern of the city we could visit Caminito, where
many locals couples dance Tango and Milongas, so, you could learn more about my culture.
In Palermo, we could visit the bets restaurants and discos in the city, specially in the nights.

About the transportation, during morning and afternoon, our best option will be bikes. There
is a good bike system in the city, and is free!

In the next couple of weeks, a special exhibition about Luis Maria Campos will take place in
MALBA (a famous modern art museum) Campos was a famous artist in Argentina who
painted traditional scenes of the life in the country of Buenos Aires, where gauchos used to
lived some decades ago.

What would you do if sudendly you become the President of the United States? in
Designated Survivor Tom Kirkman, a non-relevant member of national Cabinet is designed

the Supreme Court.}

In his first day as president, Kirkman must have to face certain challenges like governors
rebelions, the investigation of the terrorist attack, and the dubts of the people about the skills
of Kirkman as president.

What i found most interesting in this TV serie? in first place, the way in which Tom Kirkman
changes his personality and become more confident in himself and his new role as
president. Secondly, the investigation of responsabilities in the terrorist attack give to the
show remarkables good moments of action and suspence, specially when the FBI found that
the main responsible of the attack was someone near to the new president.

Because has good moments of action, but also remembers us the value of be confident
about ourselves and be honest with others, Designated Survivor is advisable i think, for
people of all ages.
