EMERGENCY

PROCEDURES

GENERAL

The recommended procedures for coping with emergency situations are provided by this section. This
section contains the airspeeds for safe operation, the Condensed Check List, and amplified and
detailed emergency prodecures.

AIRSPEEDS FOR SAFE OPERATION


BEST RATE OF CLIMB SPEE WITH ONE ENGINE INOPERATIVE – FLAPS AND GEAR UP

*Values valid for see leve. Decrease Vyse 2 kt for each 5000 ft above sea level.

BEST ANGLE OF CLIMB SPEED WITH ONE ENGINE INOPERATIVE – FLAPS AND GEAR UP

**Values valid for sea level. Increase Vxse 1.5 kt for each 5000 ft above sea level.

2. In-flight, before beginning landing gear retraction.


With adequate runway length, land and abort take-off. Refer to the procedures above.

3. On ground, without adequate runway length to stop.

ENGINE FIRE ON THE GROUND


Shut-down the burning engine – Apply Engine Shut-down Check List. Stop airplane and if fire
persists shut down other engine, evacuate passengers, and radio for assistance.
