WK3 Survey – Speaker Notes

Slide #2

The self-assessment test reveals my weaknesses and strengths. The results from peer

perception survey show high similarity with the self-assessment test. My peers indicated that I

am friendly, problem-oriented, and accepting person. The two-survey results will act as a

framework for analyzing my strengths and weaknesses. I will consider the methods of improving

my weaknesses. The presentation discusses and compares communication skills and behavior

based on the self-assessment and peer perception survey.

Slide #3

The self-assessment test has revealed several things about my communication style. I

have scored high on various traits such as being impression leaving, attentive and friendly. I

scored high in friendly because I am kind and I show empathy to those who are in problem. I

think that most people think that I am contentious because I am an abstract thinker. I tend to

follow logical reasoning when making a lot of decisions, and this makes me appear critical of

others. I hope I always leave a positive impression on others. A high score in relaxation is due to

my ability to accept delays without becoming annoyed quickly.

Slide #4

The assessment brought low scores on several areas, such as being dominant, open,

dramatic, and animated. Some people think that I am not open because I tend to be quiet and

reserved in large social groups. Additionally, I do not open up when I meet a new person unless

we have had many conversations. I agree that I am not dramatic and animated. I do not overreact

or exaggerate my emotions towards situations or events. I scored low in animated because I do

not move my face and use hand gestures a lot during a conversation.

Slide #5

My friends recorded several elements of my behaviors. Most of their views are similar,

but some are contradicting. All my friends see me as honest, genuine, reliable and believable.

They also see me as someone who is accepting rather than prejudiced. Most people think that I

am problem-oriented, but a small fraction perceives me as a solution-seeking person. Most of the

people argue that I am friendly but shy. Additionally, my friends see me as both successful and

progressive.

Slide #6

My peers expressed several views about my personality. The trait that I would like to

expound more is about being shy, friendly, and problem-oriented. Most people argued that when

we met for the first time, I was quiet, and thus, they perceived me as shy. Others see me as shy

because I am not outgoing. Most peers perceive me as problem-oriented because I try to inquire

about the root cause of an issue rather than obtaining the answer.

Slide #7

Almost everything that my friends said about me was correct. All colleagues see me as

genuine, reliable and trustworthy. Most of the times, I like telling the truth rather than sugar

coating issues. I am always in pursuit of the truths surrounding me. Additionally, it is true that I

am an enthusiastic person. I do not think I am shy, even if I like spending time alone sometimes.

I addition, I do not like opening up when I meet a new person. I disclose more about myself after

several conversations with a new person. A few people may misperceive me as unfriendly

because of being private.

SURVEY 4

I should take some measures and avoid being too private or withdrawn. I think is this is

my weakness. I will strive to express excitement when in large social groups. In addition, I will

try to introduce myself to new people rather than waiting for them to begin. I will strive to meet

many new people, since they may later become my friends. Sometimes, overdependence on

logical thinking may make me appear unfriendly or insensitive. The situation can make me look

like someone critical of others. Thus, I will try to integrate subjectivity into logical reasoning.

Slide #9

The self-assessment and peer perception evaluation helped me to understand my

weaknesses and strengths. Most of the elements that my peers stated agree with my self-

assessment results. My strengths include friendliness, accepting, honesty, and attentive traits.

Nevertheless, I should consider measures of avoiding being too private and withdrawn. First, I

should strive to improve my interaction with other people, especially new individuals. For

instance, I should introduce myself to them instead of waiting for them to initiate the process. I

should also try to be open and animated.
