 Coal Getting
1. TUJUAN
Tujuan dari prosedur ini adalah untuk memastikan
proses pembersihan, proses pengumpulan dan proses
pemuatan batubara dilakukan dengan benar dan juga
dapat meminimalkan kontaminasi.
2. RUANG LINGKUP
Dokumen ini berlaku untuk proyek MCC Extraction
Solution beroperasi dimana ada kegiatan pengambilan
batubara.
3. DEFINISI
Pembersihan batubara : Setiap Kegiatan pembersihan
permukaan batubara dari tanah penutup atau lumpur
atau material bukan batubara yang ada di permukaan
atau badan batubara
Pemuatan Batu bara: Kegiatan pemuatan batubara ke
dalam alat angkut dump truck.
Pengambilan coal: Proses mulai dari pembersihan
hingga pemuatan batubara.

1. PROPOSE
This procedure purpose to ensure cleaning, stacking
and loading coal process performed correctly and
effectively in order to minimizes contamination.
2. SCOPE
This document applies to projects in the regions
where MCC Extraction Solution operates coal getting
activities.
3. DEFINITION
Coal Cleaning: Activity to clean coal surface against
overburden or mud or material non coal which located
on the coal surface or inside of coal layer.
Coal Loading: Activity to load coal into hauler/dump
truck.
Coal Getting: The whole process coal cleaning, stocking
and loading.
4. PROCEDURE

4. 2. General
4. 2. Umum
• Alat yang digunakan untuk proses pembersihan
batubara adalah excavator ukuran kecil dengan
bucket rata (flat bucket).
• Alat yang digunakan untuk proses pengumpulan
batubara adalah excavator kecil dengan bucket yang
sesuai.
• Alat yang digunakan untuk pemuatan batubara
adalah excavator kecil dengan kuku bucket
• Pada shift malam harus tersedia penerangan yang
memadai di lokasi pekerjaan.
• Melakukan pre–use/shift inspection sebelum
mengoperasikan peralatan menggunakan form 4. 3.

4. 3. Pembersihan batubara
• Pengawas harus memastikan excavator dan alat
angkut yang digunakan dalam keadaan bersih dari
lumpur atau tanah
• Pengawas harus memastikan bahwa proses
pemuatan batubara bersih dari tanah (bukan
bagian dari lapisan batubara).
• Pengawas memastikan tanah tidak tercampur
dalam stok batubara yang akan dimuat
• Pengawas harus memastikan bahwa overburden
pada permukaan batubara telah ditarik kearah
belakang dengan jarak 1 - 1.5 meter dari
permukaan batubara yang telah terbuka.
• Operator atau pengawas memastikan daerah yang
akan dikerjakan terhindar dari air dan lumpur yang
akan mengakibatkan kontaminasi
• Jaga jarak aman ± 4 - 5 meter dari tepi tebing dan
highwall
• Parkirkan track excavator dengan arah pararel
terhadap tebing.
• Panjangkan boom dan arm sejauh yang
dimungkinkan untuk meraih jarak untuk mengikis
parting ke arah excavator
• Ulangi langkah tersebut sampai semua parting telah
berada dekat dengan track excavator
• Pada saat akan membersihkan batubara, excavator
tidak boleh berjalan melewati atau menuruni
batubara yang telah terbuka.
• Gerakan excavator ke arah samping dan tempatkan
di area yang baru
• Bekerjalah didalam jalur ± 4 – 5 meter sampai
selesai (Gbr.1 & Gbr. 2)

• Equipment use for cleaning is a small excavator
with a flat bucket
• Equipment use for stacking is a small excavator
with appropriate bucket.
• Equipment use for loading is a small excavator
with tooth bucket.
• At night shift must be provided with adequate
lighting at the work area.
• Ensure to conduct pre-use/shift inspection prior
to operate the equipment by using form

Coal Cleaning
• Before loading, Supervisor must ensure
excavator and dump truck are in clean
condition and free of mud or soils.
• Supervisor must ensure there is no dirt mixed
with coal stock that is going to be loaded.
• Supervisor must ensure that coal stock is free of
dirt (no parting).
• Supervisors must ensure that overburden in
surface of coal face is removed back 1-1.5
meter from the exposed bottom of the coal.
• Operator or Supervisor ensures the area is free
of water and mud which will cause
contamination.
• Keep safe distance ± 4 -5 meters from the edge
of highwall.
• Park excavator track parallel with the highwall.
• Extend boom and arm as far as possible to
reach distance to scrape the parting toward the
excavator
• Repeat action until all the parting is close to the
excavator track.
• While cleaning the coal, excavator may not
move across exposed coal.
• Move excavator to side and stand to a new
area, do not reverse excavator.
• Keep Working in of ± 4 – 5 meters until
complete (fig. 1& fig. 2)

• Kumpulkan semua parting ke satu area dan
penumpukan. Apabila parting sudah menumpuk di
depan track/kabin operator, maka parting tersebut
di hampar oleh grader, bila parting menggangu
proses loading maka parting tersebut di loading.
• Lakukan pola yang sama untuk mengumpulkan
batubara pada saat pemuatan
• Proses pembersihan batubara dimulai dari crest
batubara yang telah terbuka ke arah bottom
batubara.
• Pengawas harus memastikan bahwa batubara yang
telah dibersihkan bebas dari tanah dan lumpur yang
tidak terkandung dalam lapisan batubara sebelum
diambil.
• Excavator yang digunakan untuk memuat batubara 4. 4.
harus bersih dan kondisi track bersih dari lumpur
dan tanah.
4. 4. Pemuatan batubara
• Supervisor dan operator memastikan permukaan
tanah loading point dalam kondisi aman untuk
excavator dan permukaan tanah Dump Truck flat

• Collect all parting to one area and stockpile. If
the parting is pile up in front of the track / cabin
operator, it must be removed by grader, if the
parking could disturb coal loading process then
loading the parting.
• Start the same pattern to collect the coal for
loading
• Cleaning process is started form the crest of the
exposed coal to the bottom coal.
• Supervisor shall ensure that the clean coal is
free of dirt and mud in the seams before
loading
• Supervisor must ensure the excavator are clean
and the track are free of mud and dirt.
Coal loading
• Supervisors and operators must ensure surface
around loading point area are safe for excavator
and surface for Dump Truck are flat and stable
• Supervisor must inform to operator, checker
and dump truck operator, Coal seam loaded
and dump location.

• Isi muatan batubara dalam bak (Vessel) Dump Truck
harus penuh tidak menyisakan rongga. tapi tidak
overload agar batubara tidak tumpah di jalan
hauling dan mengenai kaca unit lain, (Lihat Gbr. 4).
• Arah putaran (swing) bucket excavator ketika

• Excavator angle swing must be 90 (fig.3)
• Ensure the excavator idler position is at the
front side when loading coal
• Excavator operator must ensure the distance
between track and bench is 1 meter before
loading coal to Dump Truck (fig.3)
• During the movement (loading coal and
position from the bench) the operator must
ensure the bench is stable/flat by looking
around excavator

• Dump Trucks coal vessel must fill with full, leave
no cavity and not overload so that the coal does
not spill on hauling road or hit other unit’s
glasses. (See Fig. 4).

4. 5. Coal Hauling
• Supervisor harus memastikan penutup bak
belakang truck tidak terbuka sebelum berjalan,
bahaya batubara akan tercecer di jalan.
• Supervisor harus mengatur kelancaran lalu lintas
trucknya saat di Pit atau pun di luar pit (haul road).
• Tahap terakhir pengangkutan batubara, Supervisor 4. 6.
harus memastikan tidak ada batubara di base
loading point atau bongkahan yang tersisa.
4. 6. Dumping di stock pile
• Gigi transmisi posisi netral dan rem parkir
terpasang.
• Aktifkan PTO kemudian aktifkan tuas dump untuk
mengangkat dump body
• Pastikan posisi spotter menjauh dalam jarak sekitar
10 meter dari truck sebelum dumping
• Saat tuas pengangkat dump body diaktifkan
putaran engine tidak melebihi 1500 RPM dan
kurangi setelah slinder hidrolis mendekati batas
berhenti maksimum.
• Majukan truck dengan tujuan untuk menghabiskan
material dalam vessel kemudian berhenti dan
turunkan dump body setelah material benar-benar
bersih dari vessel.
• Pastikan pintu vessel telah tertutup dengan rapat
dan pengunci pintu vessel berfungsi dengan baik
sebelum kembali menuju ke tempat pemuatan batu
bara.
• Jika pintu vessel tidak tertutup dengan rapat atau
pengunci pintu vessel tidak berfungsi dengan baik
laporkan kepada atasan anda.
• Pastikan vessel telah turun dengan sempurna
sebelum unit dijalankan.
• Jangan mengangkat dump body kecuali di stockpile
batu bara

Coal Hauling
• The supervisor or leading hand must ensure
the back bucket cover of dump truck is closed
before haul cycle starts to avoid coal loss on
haul road
• Supervisor must arrange the proper dump
truck traffic when in Pit or in coal haul road.
• Coal hauling Supervisor must ensure there is
no remaining at base loading point and coal of
floor.
Dumping at stock pile
• Handle transmission is neutral and parking
brake is set.
• Activate PTO and then dump handle to lift
dump body.
• Ensure spotter position is already 10 meters
away from the rear right truck before
dumping
• When dump body’s handle is activated,
engine must not be over 1500 RPM. Reduce
engine RPM to idle after hydraulic cylinder
reaches the max limit.
• Move to truck forward to throw the material
down from the vessel and then stop and
lower the dump body when the material is
completely off the vessel
• Ensure the vessel door has been completely
closed and door handle of the vessel work
properly before going back to coal loading
point.
• If vessel door isn’t close completely or vessel
door handle doesn’t work properly, report
immediately to your supervisor.
• ensure vessel is perfectly down before the
unit is moved forward.
• Do not lift dump body unless in coal stockpile
5. Handling Spill Out Coal at Haul road
• If any spill out coal at haul road, shift supervisor
