Aims of the lesson By the end of the lesson, students will be better able to writing body paragraphs
using Point-Example-Explanation pattern.

Secondary aims of the lesson By the end of the lesson, students will have practiced reading topic related article
to glean ideas and have read a couple of sample writing.
By the end of the lesson, students will have practiced writing the following task:

“Some people believe famous people's support towards international aid


organizations draws the attention to problems, while others think celebrities make
the problems less important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.”

Anticipated difficulties Time: 30 min may not be enough for covering a full writing task
Latecomers: students may come in late.
Fastflyers: in group work some student may take the lead, feeling bored
