HUMAN BEINGS ARE EVIL BY NATURE

“The nature of man is evil; what is good in him is artificial”

( XUNZI)

The nature of human is evil. However, the things which seems good and generous are actually

not genuine, these are not the part of his nature they are generated artificially. The evils are

actually not created by God these are the results of the thinking of human beings as the first man

on the earth i.e. Adam committed evil by his own will not by the will of God.

Humans are immoral, they are evil by nature and most of them even never noticed about it or

have no regret for his behavior. Humans are sinful creatures they commit sins even after

knowing all the truths and facts of his life he does not pay attention to any divine orders. Nature

is the thing which cannot be acquired by practice or by making any effort, according to XUNZI

it’s a divine gift which we receive from heaven and the things which we can learn by daily

practice are actually conscious activity.

 Humans are greedy and hungry by nature as Mark Twain said, few years ago some hunters on

our Great Plains organized a buffalo hunt for the entertainment of an English earl and they had

charming sport. They killed seventy of these great animals and ate one of them and left the others

to rot. Similarly, man always accumulate money for him but he never gets fulfill and always has

desire to have more. For example, if we leave a man to a market and say him to get the things of

his need for free and surely, he will take out more things than his need due to his nature of greed.

Animals are less cruel and greedy than humans. As sir Mark Twain made an experiment to

know the difference between human and animals, he turned seven calves into the cage of

anaconda and he observed the anaconda immediately ate one of the calves and left the others

untouched while the behavior of man is not like this as we have seen the example of hunters. The

reptile seemed pretty satisfied after his hunger but the human does not. In the same way, the

human never gets satisfied after his savings he wants to do more, but the animals don’t do this

we can see the squirrels, bees and other birds saving food for winter supply and have some limit

but the humans have no limit for saving they never get satisfied.

Humans always attract by the sin. The world is full of evil doings, it is found in every corner of

the world,no place is devoid of sin. When a person tries to do something good, he does because

its not in his nature. A person who is poor aspires to rich, who is ugly aspires to beauty, who is

weak aspires to strong and the other person who is wealthy does not aspire to rich because he

always wants to have which he doesn’t have. In the same way human wants to be good because

his nature is evil.

If we look upon the current situation of the world, we will find numerous examples of man’s

cruelty and injustice. The circumstances of the countries and regions such as Kashmir, Israel,

Syria are intense. The armies of the opponent countries are killing the innocent’s day and night
for no reason. And the so-called United Nations is taking no action for these acts of brutality

because might be they are the part of these attacks or are afraid of those countries who are doing

these. Humans are killing humans for the sake of money, power or his own desires.

From all the discussion we can conclude that the thing which are good in humans such as

kindness, generosity, love, affection, respect and honor are all the production of practice and due

to the social teachings, things like these are not the part of his nature these are generated

artificially. In many aspects’ animals are found better creatures. No doubt, humans are the evilest

creature of all times.

Now not all the humans are same, some of them have developed numerous good conscious

activities in them and have become a good citizen and a countryman but the humans of having

brutal and violent conscious activities lies too in this great earth. In short, we can say that all

types of people are found in this world.

The need of the hour is to think about all these things happening around us and to make the

suitable changes which we think we should develop in ourselves so that we could prove good

and beneficial for others in all the ways. As we see the better person is one who is better for the

others. We should pay attention to the people around us and let them know the mission of their

birth and how to overcome our evil nature which urges us to commit evil deeds.
