Oatmans’ Wrath of the Lich King Release! Revision:1

Well its finally here! Sorry that it took me about two months to finally get around to making it but
our first Wrath of the Lich King Server is now here and supports Revision: 8788 of the WotLK
Beta Client! This release operates on top of the MaNGOS Kernel using the UDB Database. With
about 3,585 lines of code added into the MaNGOS Core Wrath of the Lich King is now officially
supported into the Reaper-X Family and Discussion Board!

Installation Instruction:
1. Run Oatmans' WotLK Installer.bat from Oatman’s WotLK Database directory and continue with
the installation until finished
2. Edit Mangosd.conf and Realmd.conf especially at below parts to point to the correct database
name using your mysql password and username:
Note:
– Replace wotlk_usr to your mysql username

– Replace mangos to your mysql password
– Replace wotlk_realmd, wotlk_world, wotlk_characters to point to the correct database name
that is used on the installation process
– Replace Datadir to the full path of your extracted DBC files and maps files from WOTLK (if you
put the dbc directory and maps in the same directory of mangos, then there’s no need for you to
change it)

Other Notes (thanks to LoLz Guy):
#1 To run mangos.exe you have to edit mangos.conf and delete some spaces (if there are too
many) or other things that dont fit there...
#2 To make your databases work you have to use a mysql gui program (like navicat or sqlyog)
and execute batch files to characters and realmd tabs.
#3 To make a Death Knight you have to manually edit the database (using navicat sqlyog or
sometjing like that) and in the realmd in account table change your accounts "tbc" thingie from 0
to 2 or from 1 to 2 (I couldn't do it in mangos.exe commands, as it was blocked or something).
BTW the Death Knight class starts at the race start place, has no abilities, and there is NO
WOTLK CONTENT AT ALL...
Important Note from Oatman:
Currently this repack doesn’t have any NPC's on Northrend although he (Oatman) said that he’ll
add NPC’s later on the next revision (Revision 2) and probably some other things as well :) …
and as he said before on the comment area, he is currently busy with various things as well and
so he sent me the download link yesterday via email

awesome job guys !!!

Can I ask you,you still support arcane-fire revision,you have plan update it in future? Asking
this as I had never problem setup my server with your guide,so if there would be change arcane-
fire get later update,I rather wait put my new revision to my server,you realesed update for it .

Arcane fire will continue to be supported. There will also be an option to upgrade arcane fire
to my Wrath of the Lich King Releases.

I have one problem, I found the lich king downloader, but the patching process stops at 8770
and I don't know how to get to 8788. If anyone can find that it would be greatly appreciated if they
can share.

I think that there should be some links to the client and necessary patches download... Best if
they were torrent downloads, but rapidshare or something would be good too.
If anyone reads this and posts a link, i'vs got a big "THANK YOU!!" to say to you...

i downloaded the beta client from here about 2-3 weeks ago...its a direct link to the download
1.88 GB and the install won't affect your retail WoW its a whole separate folder a little over 9 gigs
when u download it and install it, make a new folder on the drive that you want it on called
WotLK Beta and install it there

But I do have a question.
Will this be able to be upgraded from the 5953 release and not lose Character data? Or will
this need to upgraded in steps. And if so, what would be the best way?
I downloaded the beta about 2 weeks ago just incase you were able to complete the release.
And you never disappoint.

Very interesting.
So this alpha release would be based on standard MaNGOS + your patches? or does
MaNGOS already have support for the client prebuild?
As I did the last time, I'm still going to require a build of my own, due to my crappy CPU on the
server. So would the source, in case you make it, be released as well?
UDB, SD2 - Of course, WoTLK has some differences and additions. Will the release still be
compatible with the current MaNGOS, SD2 files, and will we be able to merge the data with the
"official" UDB/SD2 releases?
I wouldn't mind doing some manual work on the SQL layer if that is required, nor would I mind
mingling in the source code if that is required too. But that's probably the few of us that would be
capable of doing that.
Let us know when you have more info and when we can expect to give it a try, working or not,
it's going to be fun trying.

Hey Oatman!
With this release, will there be npcs, mobs & quests at northrend?
I do already using a wotlk mangos release on my servers, and it's only a few places, like
larger cities that have npcs and no transports in or to northrend are working.
Hope your release is better, but mine is still not bad, since Death Knight is working pretty
nice.

Good choice with the version of the beta, it's usable both in old and new worlds, and there are
points of travel defined.
For the few needing the final patch, just try to log into the beta, and the final patch will be
downloaded.
Looks quite cool so far, I'm ready to pounce on a server and getting the thing airborne.

I've recently been using another repack for the 8788 client, but it's missing DK quests and
mobs in the Northrend. Also the dbc files had to be extracted from 8770 and used with the 8788
maps.
I was wondering if this is going to be the case with rev.1?

I was having a read about some of the current releases of WotLK, are you able to elaborate
on what features will be available in this release?
I've seen a lots that don't have NPC's, no high riding skills and many other things.
How much won't we be able to do on this first release?
(btw, not complaining, just curious, I still can't wait to get my ass over there).
Also, there are rumors that you will need dbc from a previous version and maps from the
current version. Any idea on this?

I have a question, the problem with alot of ppl here me included is we're itching to know when
the server software is going to be released etc etc, I was wondering would it be possible to let us
know how far you've got with it, till your happy enough to release it, i dunno just a quick update
with like 70% complete 80% complete etc etc, was just thinking it wouldn't need you to give a 12
page essay on what needs to be done b4 its ready, all i'm thinking is it'll take 30 secs if that just to
say how far you've got, it'll put alot of ppl at ease i'm thinking.

As Samories said, fast internet connections here in Sweden is dirt cheap.

The sad thing though is that my ISP do not look kindly to hosting of servers on these
residential connections.
I do run a Reaper-X server for the members of my guild, just for fun and machinima creations.
I cant wait for the WotLK version :)

I am busy for two months all during the middle of the day for swimming practice so its kind of
hard to put full effort into getting this release shipped but it should at least be out by Saturday
Night...
Also it is for version: 8788 of 3.0.1 if a higher comes out I'll make it for the higher version.
Also I restrict it to one revision becuase if I dont it would crash on the person with the lower
revision.

I wouldn't expect old clients or even the pre wotlk to be able to use the server, as there is
indeed change in the old world (i.e. Stormwind Barber Shop), as well as the new maps.
Add to this, that even the slightest bad reference of spells, or other internal dbc data that do
not exist usually causes the client to crash.
There's one small possibility that this might be possible in the future, ralmd.exe has a build in
function to distribute patches, but no one seems to be able to decipher the code. This would
make it possible to create your own dbc/mpq files for the server and hence, make sure all your
players have the right version for your server.
Of course, this would require massive bandwidth, but if used with a torrent engine it would be
possible.

From my experience with Reaper-X's Mangos (or let alone Oatman's repacks) You can install
WotLK Beta anywhere. As long as you can copy / paste the dbc / vmap extractor. Could be
wrong.
And as always, this is so we can host our own private servers. 'else he wouldn't be releasing
it.

WOTLK Patches are every friday, so i have to agree with tho's that posted you should polish it
a bit and release it... wow releases a new patch once a week so it will be hard to keep up, this
friday coming out is a fairly big patch as well.
i'm on the actual beta btw.

you only need WotLK installed. The beta isn't an actual "expansion" pack for WoW or TBC. It
does indeed install into a separate folder and updates accordingly. So if you just want to play
WotLK then you simply just install that as a stand alone and update it as needed.

For those who keeps asking.

When you download Wrath of the Lich King, it'll install it self into a new directory. If you are in
the beta for Wrath of the Lich King, then you can play it. If you are not in the beta, then you need
to wait or get another repack of Mangos from another provider, or wait untill Oatman is done.
Also, when you install Wrath of the Lich King, it'll ask to either 'upgrade' your account or 'skip',
click on skip. (Unless you have a Beta key.) As for the patches.. Chances are, Oatman will be
using the latest patch revision: 8820 (as of August 27, 08).
This beta expansion will not interfere with your normal World of Warcraft folder. So all is fine.

I just received an email from Oatman (plus the download link to the repack), and he says that
the current version (revision 1) is not for the latest wotlk client, and currently it doesnt have any
NPC's on Northrend (he also says that he will start making more NPC's and such for the revision
2 which will be released later of course)
And because currently Oatman busy with his life. When i got back, i'll edit this post by myself
to add the download link to the repack :)

Ok, for those who need to downgrade or reinstall WotLK to 8788... You can manually install
the patches from the Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft folder. Backup and change your
realmlist address for patches to none or something of that nature so that the software doesn't
keep downloading the patches and when you want to install a new patch use the original patch
address or find a direct download via the net.

I had a little problem with getting things started with this, RealmD was unable to find any
realms (apologies for not being exact, i'll try to recreate the error and post more info about it) and
MangosD would close instantly, i seem to have fixed this by renaming the folder "Oatmans'
WotLK Release #1" to just "WotLK" i'm assuming it was the ' or 1 that was causing a problem,
also i redirected the .CONF files from "wotlk_realmd" to just "realmd" and so far i've been able to
log in and create a character so far!

I get a popup messages everytime i try run Mangosd.exe or Realmd.ex, it says "this
application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found. re-installing this application

i just gave this a go, firstly had to insert the realmd and characters sql manually in to the
database
then on line 512 of mangosd.conf theres a rogue apostrophe that needs removing to get
mangosd to start.
worked fine for me, except when i tried to create a new char i pressed create and no char
showed up, and cant select DK, ill go and double check everything as i probably have missed
something.

to put my realm online, i have to do it the long way
seeing as my router will let me foward ports no probs, but still everytime someone connects to
me , it reroutes to my router, i tried everything but does'nt work.
so instead i config server with my assigned IP and then use hamachi which works fine, i used
ReaperX's fanastic mangos wow+bc release and works perfecto
ah yes i just inserted the gm island vendors i use for other release and they work fine on
oatmans WotLK release, least i dont have to be lvl 80 now with lvl 1 gear lol
as for the sql i use a specific username and password i use for all databases, and use that for
everything instead of the usual user root with now password.

personally i use Navicat Lite, can get it free here http://www.navicat.com/download.html
its very easy to use, as simple as right clicking a database , then choose Execute Batch File ,
then press the square button to look for the .sql file you want to import to that database
if you want ot manually create the databases then just right click localhost and then create
database,

I'd like to tell you some of the things i figured out...
#1 To run mangos.exe you have to edit mangos.conf and delete some spaces (if there are too
many) or other things that dont fit there...
#2 To make your databases work you have to use a mysql gui program (like navicat or
sqlyog) and execute batch files to characters and realmd tabs.
BTW the Death Knight class starts at the race start place, has no abilities, and there is NO
WOTLK CONTENT AT ALL...
@Reaper-X if it is possible please make this comment show in color (maybe red or somethin'

answered, unless it looks different from the rest) as this should be all that is necessary to do to

just a guess but couldn't you edit the .bat to insert the missing database's (for realmd and

Hey Oats, I'm not going to lie, I'm extremely dissapointed. I know you worked hard, and I can
understand that but, this "WotLK" server as you call it, really isn't even a Wrath server at all... you
can't get to Northrend, and the Death Knight class is totally fucked up. However, I'll look past this
one, and hope to see that you improve apon all this in 8820. I'm not saying that I hate you or
anything of that sorts as alot of the people here will most likely interupret, but I know you can do
better.

There are a few fully compiled WOTLK environments out there, and then this... 'compilation'
comes along. It's just a serious letdown, as it does not even have any WOTLK baseline content.
None...
Hate to say it, but for right now, a lot of these posters here should look at using a server like
Crogges (which is currently running build 8820 with full content), if they are not lucky enough to
be in the actual closed beta.
I'll keep an eye out for further updates, though.

Oatie just started working on it, but in a few days he finished doing what he said he'd do (he
said no npc's and stuff) he's not a robot and no one would spend all his time on something like
this... I respect Oatie for his job and can't wait for revision 2 which will contain npc's and some
other things (just as he said). Blizz worked on it since TBC release and they've had a whole team
to work on it (plus they are professionals) and our Oatie is just one person, so just leavie him
alone, show some gratitude, wait quietly for next releases or just shut up and go away if you don't
like his work.

Hi=) I just tried to install the database, i changed the Wotlk_usr and pretty much everything
called Wotlk in the realmd and mangosd files to root, changed the mangos to my password, but
after i write my mysql username and password in the installation, i get the message "MySQL is

as for pointing out some private servers running latest patch and they run fine with everything,

for me, playing with the databases, and stuff ingame is a great learning experience

ETA on the ver 2 release? i tried to build a WOTLK server from D3scene... but the DK quests
dont work, the DK skills dont all seem to work, there's a missing chunk of ocean around the
draeni starting area, thier paladin quests dont work either (odd that out of 3 tries, no server has

OK found the older version and it patches itself just have to stop it from patching all the way to
8820. Now to find out how to add the needed skills and some gear (none of the stuff made for
Warriors will work really he is wearing fel iron and junk for testing purposes thus far).
Where is the DK trainer or is there not one in game yet?

Thanx Firane=) i tried to install it again, sat through the matrix-thingy, but the weird thing is,
there is never something wrong with realmd. Mangosd is the problem, first, it would not start
(fixed), then, it would not connect to the database(Fixed, thanx again Firane:D) now ,it says a lot
of tables in mysql don't exist and it keeps talking about vmaps. If i have to extract them, does
anybody have an extractor?:P and are all these problems linked with me having Vista? Sorry for
long post=/

If you need an extractor download the older repacks they come with an extractor. Chec the
older posts on this board. You will not be able to extract the wotlk though you will need and the
older "tbc 2.4.3 <-- I think" installed.

oatman, i found this other repack, i installed yours and imported some of the sql over and now
have deathknight spells, abilities and items when i start, not everything is in there ofc but it's

Ok so I have a really stupid question to ask,, The patches can we upgrade our 2.4.3 client
with them or is it just for the Wrath of the Lynch King client. Im kinda confused on this. I tried
reading up on this on the WoW forums and I think I got the wrong impression of it. Cause you say
there is an upgrade for the Arcane Fire to the wrath and I just want to make sure before i try any
thing to my 2.4.3 client.

So far I have found that every thing seems to istall ok but character data seems to have an
error. I had AHbot intalled and it says the line is already there. so I delete my AHbot account and
disabled it in the mangosd.conf the server seems to work but I am unable to connect. Any Ideas
guys?

mogrein's repack was pretty complete for it's version number, it's origin is the d3 site... there
is also a patch that goes with it, but it stops at 8788 i believe... i used the sql from it and a repack
for 8820 from the site, but it's missing enough that i now cannot see my buffs and am missing
portions of ocean
@gnomie there are two areas with npcs there on northrend, valgarde and i was told there are
some on the beach below camp winterhoof (i personally havent seen them)

guys, i'm having a n00b moment.. all installed, got a ton of errors for chain spells, any
ideas?... also i'm stuck at authenticating..i've checked all my ports are open on my router for udp

ad.exe no longer seems to work on the newer builds and throws a lot of errors in the 39-70%
range trying to build maps

well, I don't have an IRC but for now you guys can use my TeamSpeak Server... just put in
the server address: wasabi.servegame.org
and the channel password which is changed to: reaper
then just put in a nickname and connect as anonymous. I will most likely be on it, if you don't
have a mic then just send a text message to all under the channel tab.

i'm hoping theres some SQL guru's out there, when booting the server i noticed alot of spell
id's and level stats were missing so i'm assuming they come from the deathknightdata.sql file, so
i've tried to import it on SQLyog into the wotlk_world database, but i keep getting the same error,
even after breaking down the individual segments in the file to seperate files, on each one i'm
getting the following error,
Error Code: 1062 - Duplicate entry
now i've tried the logical route and searched for any duplicate entries but there are none, any
ideas on how to fix it?

somehow my wotlk 8820 patch got corrupted so i uninstalled and reinstalled. i left the
realmlist as default and let the program patch itself up instead of doing them all myself and it only
patched up to 8820. how do i patch to the current 8885?

I just wanted to comment (and I'm sure that there will be backlash as a result), but what ever
happened to the ever-reliable and easy to install Reaper-X releases?
It used to be that every release was tested and it was just a matter of running your installer
program and making a few changes to the conf files and away we go.
I'm just a little curious that over the last few releases (that weren't put out by Reaper) that
there have been endless problems and a degree required in MySQL and other programs.
Its just advice, but maybe it would be better not to announce that there is a release coming
soon before it is thoroughly tested for release and ease of install.
As you can see by the 400-odd comments on this page alone, there are many uses who
download your releases, and I've always been really impressed with the ease of installation and
use - until recently.
I recommend in future, just release a good stable version that noobs can install and just play,
and don't jump in too early with announcements...
Just a thought... but thanks for the effort!

That's the point though. I know that we're all keen as hell to get in and have a lash of it (me
included), but its just not ready. And it puts heaps of pressure on Oatman and Colt45 to release it
as soon as possible (scroll up and see how many people were busting their balls for it to be
released) and as a result of an early release, it incorporates a whole heap of issues and
ungrateful and unhappy people.
All I'm saying is that Reaper-X has a reputation out there in the MaNGOS community, and I'd
hate for it to get too out of control and be shut down.

Hope i never came accross as ungrateful, apologies if i did anyway i look at things like this, a
learning curve, huh? i hear you say well i'll explain so you install something that is giving you the
error, why not learn how to fix it? learn a language! learn SQL sure theres stuff i dont know so i'll

Reaper did have a rep for making very easy to install repacks and real life always comes first.
I do agree with Rikiller though, but its possible that the updates are coming out so fast that they
are just trying to keep up. I have been following along for a very long time and the repacks are
getting harder to install or upgrade. I finnaly scrapped my characters and have decided to start
over. Still we thank the "X" team and community for all their hard work.

biggest problem ive read about so far is that the beta updates are weekly and often screw up
a lot of mangos. next biggest problem is that mangos doesnt officially support wotlk yet. next
biggest is that everyone who wants to make it work is making their own patches and compiling
these with other peoples patches...it all takes so much time and with everything happening so fast
its really hard to keep up.
i wish people would leave reaper, oatman, and colt45 be and just let them do what they can
when they can.

Ppl should start thinking, doing some things on their own, experimenting and learning from
other ppls comments (like me) but most of all thinking.
Private servers are made by ppl who are only using it as a learning experience (as stated at
mangos homepage).

Okay, need somebodys help here, this is driving me a lil crazy, lol
Okay so when im at the part to Execute the batch files, i've done that. So when i go back to
the Oatman's WotLK Release , and try to LAunch Mangos.exe, it disappears within a split
second.
Anyone know why its doing this. I see way up where to install the program it says to manually
execute batch files, yes ive done that, but how do i launch mangos.exe from navica??

if u have trouble with ppl connecting to your cpu i highly suggest just using hamachi
(really small easy tunnel program)
more or less we'll all be on the same virtual network through the tunnel and just set the realm
IP to the IP hamachi gives u

'Big Marky' caps do matter - the pw is wow or give me the name you used when u hit the button

Hi again:P about the vmaps problem i had last time, i noticed that it's about the 0004331.map
file, wich according to Mangosd, does not exist. Does anybody else have this problem, or know
how to fix it? i have tried to re-extract the map files over and over again, but it just happens again
and again=/ im sure this is the last bump in the road before i can play:P

Username = what ever user name you set up in mysql to log in.
Password = what ever password you set up in mysql to log in.
realm = what ever user name you used for the realm database in mysql.
When you start it says the realmd Unkown datebase. That is because the realm.conf has the
wrong realm name.
Are you upgrading or doing a fresh install?

hmm... run navicat, and make new connection (if U run it first time, it should pop-up, if not go
"connection" in main tab and put any name (for example root) and leave the rest as it is, only add
Ur mysql account (propably "root") and pass for it (U chose them while setup of mysql) ) , then
double click on it (left side of navicat window), it should expand, and then U should have few
db's , propably mysql, information_schema, test (leave them) and wotlk_realmd, wotlk_world and
wotlk_characters (as i remember) , and then double click on wotlk_realmd, it should turn to
green , then right click on it, and choose "execute batch file" . funny window will pop-up, and in it
choose path to this wotlk_realmd.sql file (oatman's wotlk database) , dont change encoding, and
click start, then execute, it should pass without any errors , and close, and be happy with working
realmd ;] btw u must do the same with characters :)

i got the same problem as Ciastek

when i start the mangos it loads a while talking about loads of fiels that does not exist and
after that it comes up about : loading crature templates...
error in crature_tamplet table, probaly sql file format was updated (there should be 65 fields.
any one know how to get this not to be a problem and how to get mangos to find the ( not
existing) files ?

What am i supposed to do with the "wotlk_world" line? not the wotlk_usr and mangos, just
wotlk_world.i cant execute any batch file, because there is none, if i leave it the way it is, then it
tells me that i do not have a map file ( wich by the way, i have), and if i change it to just "world"

So far I have the server up and running, though I cannot make any characters... It just keeps
saying "You already have the maximum number of characters allowed on this account." This has
never happened for my other servers... I tried changing the plimit to -3, 0, 100... but I don't think
that has to do with the amount of chars u can make....... Anyone?

Im just using what was in the release that wasw put out here on this page it works but I
cannot get to the NorthRend area but other than that it works.. I was gonna also let ya know I can
help you out some by providing support for the install of this release i tested it and reloaded it like
well several times and everytime i have gotten it to work I have the maps for this up for download
as well on my private server and I have the game running as well if you need a testing bed or
anything like that. im here if you need me. the only thing I don't currently have is how to make the
stuff like you guys have to make the DB or the .exe. files in the mangos file system if I hade that I
could be more help.

I am the US version however is the one difference I am aware of that could make the

Okay, I have my server up and running with full NPCs spells and items. This is how I did it
(requires MySQL and SQLyog or similar installed):
1. Download and unpack Oatmans wotlk release

2. Go into the databases folder and run the batch file
3. Connect to the your MySQL server with SQLyog
4. Go to the wotlk_realmd database, right click on it and choose restore data from SQL dump
5. Select the wotlk_realmd.sql file and execute
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for wotlk_characters
7. Copy AD.exe (in the tools folder) into your WOTLK client directory, and run (run as
administrator if in Vista)
8. Copy the dbc and maps folders into the data folder of your WotLK server directory
9. Open up your mangos.conf file and make the following changes:
* DataDir = "data"
* LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;[mysql username];[mysql password];wotlk_realmd"
* WorldDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;[mysql username];[mysql password];mangos;wotlk"
* CharacterDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;[mysql username];[mysql
password];wotlk_characters"
* Motd = "[your own message of the day without any ' or " in it]"
If you follow these instructions, you should be able to get Oatmans installation working.
However, to get npcs and items you need to use the database from Morgrein's repack (download
at hXXp://rapidshare.com/files/137530367/Mogrein_WotLK_Repack.rar.html)
Find mangos.sql and import it over the top of the wotlk_mangos database like in steps 4-5.
If anything doesn't work, tell me and I'll try to help

releases, but then go into SQLyog, then go to wotlk_realmd > Tables > account, then in the

@bratna: might try the regular mangos first if you are new to this. The LichKing is a bit more
manual to configure and would help to have done it all before with a more automated repack type
install build.
Other than that advice, did get the database setup and it's running (as a service?). Make sure
the config (CONF) files are in the folder with the mangos.exe and realmd.exe? Capture the text
which displays when you launch realmd.exe and mangos.exe and paste it here.

ok.. ive done a few of reaper's servers before... but im lost on this one.. i get the whole ' issue
and ive got navicat done and all the editing that i can find... but when i run mangosd i get class 6
level 1 does not have health/mana data... should i re-extract the dbc's? im using the ones that
came with the repack... btw i've got my patch up to 8788...

You can't let the client auto-update. Blizz created a new mega patch that patches anything
earlier to 8820. I did the same thing. You need to download all the individual patches that take
you to 8788. To get there, you'll need to uninstall the beta client and reinstall + patches. After
initial start of the client and all patching, the thing tries to download the big patch. Cancel out of it,
and apply the next patch in order until you're done.

Deathknight is not available because your "account" is not set to be WotLK capable. Just like
an account had to be upgraded when TBC came out, same applies. Mangos doesn't know how to
do it yet, so you need to set it in the database. You can do it with one of those gui clients, but I
just find the sql commands easier.
Open a DOS shell and enter 'mysql -u root -p' to launce the mysql client. Enter your password
when prompted.
Enter "use wotlk_realmd;"

Enter "select id, username, tbc from account;"
This shows the database table id, your account username, and the tbc variable (which is
probably 0 or 1) for all the accounts.
Find the account you want to change and note the id value.
Enter "update account set tbc=2 where id=;"
You've just updated the row for your account. Cursor up and run the "select" statement again
to confirm. Relaunch your game client.

So right now im downloading the beta provided in the description

Once that is done, i run the installer bat, and from there, i configure the .conf files as
specified, then it should work ?
Im not sure, but shoudnt there be a certain key we need to put in for the beta to work ? or will
this program just work over it ?

Hi guys and tech team, I'm working on creating my very first private server right now for my
boyfriend and I to play on (waiting on the humungous maps to be created) - and I just thought I
would stop by and say that you guys really seem to be on top of your game here.
I always avoided private servers before (I have been playing since 2 months after release)
because they always seemed to be at least a patch or two behind Live, which made them
pointless, but here you guys are patching in BETA!
I'm in WotLK BETA btw, the lag is so bad it makes you hate the expansion already haha. So
this will be very much appreciated! And just as a tiny request, as soon as the graphics are
released, please put them out for us! I am so tired of seeing my Paladin's naked arse in BETA
because of no graphics hehe!

You're not having a problem. There is no NPC or WotLK content besides the continent itself.
Read the notes at the very top of this page. Look for the next release to include that content.

I have used Custom Vendor Pack 10.3 but got an error that says; "[Err] 1054 - Unknown

i have problem with patch wotlk 3.0.1.8622 to 8634. when i update it show this message

I had the same error with one of my patches. I simply opened the torrent again and pointed it
at the file's directory location. It re-downloaded one piece and was at 100% again. Closed the
torrent and the patch ran just fine. Give that a shot.

If i remember right, typing .modify titles -0 gives u all of the titles
(well all the old skool ones anyway, not sure how to get "champion of the naaru" etc.)

I tried running the wotlk bat file but once I entered the name of the database, I got a grant
usage on *.* to 'wotlk_user@localhost' message and didn't run the install... I had to open MYSQL
cmd prompt and type the entire sql statement. Reran the bat and started to install after bypassing
the same message.. any ideas why? My guess is that it is looking for that user in the MYSQL
when default user is root.

I had problems w/ my mangosd.exe - first went through and corrected to info to fit my server
your data location, login, world, and character info (w/ password) and did same in realmd then
you need to download navi (its easier) and update ur server mostly for dk should work after that

well i have been playing the real servers again and just like 5 minutes ago my game patched
to support lich king. awesome background at the logon screen with the lichs dragon flying around.
servers still under maintenance so not sure what i will be able to see without the expansion.

To get to Northrend, simply type .go 1 1 1 571

you will end up in the water outside of northrend. You will need to simply swiw a little to get
there. Once there, you can add a teleport location

Yea I know you all have been waiting like 4 months for revision two but trust me, it sure will be
worth it in the end. There is so many NPCs and working instances as well as deathknight abilities
plus the DK starting zone. Transports are also working. You all are going to really enjoy revision
two. It has so much more content it should almost be called Revision: 100
...But I am going to call it Rev:2

I'm currently running Rev 5953, just wondering what is the easiest way to upgrade to WotLK
Full Version (not Beta), without loosing character info and other work I've done on my server. Any

When you run the batch file there's an option to backup/save character data, which will do it
for you.
Here's reapers link that shows that:

Look under "fresh install" under STEP 4, and you'll see that option 2 is to backup your
character data.

NEVER EVER, use an older releases database to backup your characters then restore them.
That is an apsolute NO. If you do this you will currupt your database and lose all your characters.
You need to be using our upgrade.bat file which is specificially made to make sure that you guys
get a successful and smooth upgrade.
As for Release 2: I hate to break it to you guys but after doing some testing with FaTe the
core is far too laggy and buggy and you get disconnected everytime you send an unrecognized
opcode. Which happens alot so we may just release it without the Northrend spawns. But hey its
better than nothing...

I'd like to suggest to Oatman: if the release runs stable without northrend but with the DK,
then release it. If it doesn't, then take time to fix it.

While I've been waiting for Oatman's long awaited release I found that there are two working
WotLK 3.0.3 MaNGOS projects out now.
One is Wotlk Kingdom http://dewcomputers.com/index.php

Which is erazare's compilation from the thread Here http://forums.reaper-x.com/topic/new-
mangos-for-302-patch on ReaperX. Northrend is in place but there is nothing yet spawned there.
He's almost there though =)

i found this and wanted to share with you guys

for the ones that want to play WOTLK 1/3 instance's work in this repack deathnights are
playable its about 97% of what the live server
is. as for gm commands this link is all i found.

YOU MUST DO THIS STEP!!

Go into arcemu blizzlike then arcemu
then the config folder
open up arcemu logonserver.conf
and on the bottom it says
logonserver remote password
change the "change_me_logon"
to "ascent"
one more very importaint thing the Arcemu v9

must go stright on the C drive if you want it to
work.

reaper-x team would be able to use it to help make a new repack and so all the people here could
finaly play Wotlk and enjoy it like i am.
Tho i will always look for emu's to run wow i will never forget about Mango's repack's so easy
to use and user friendly in my eye's.
so in the end i will always look on this site first.

I think I stand for many of us when I say I'd rather wait for reapers release than try a different
server pack. Reapers has always been my favorite due to the fact that setting it up is easy, and
it's the most stable server I've ever run...yes, I have tried others, and none meet the quality that
reaper has been able to deliver.
Reaper, I'll wait for you man, I'm not willing to compromise for another server that I don't know
how to already work. Best of luck as you fix the problems you've come across!

Truthfully, I was going to rejoin real wow to enjoy lich without bugs, but as soon as I read that
the CEO of blizz announced work being done on ANOTHER expansion, I said screw it! I'm never

Evan make sure In the Config Files you have it set to point were the dbc\maps\vmaps are
making sure all 3 are in the same folder. example
datadir:c:\mangos\data (that means you have all the dbc\maps\vmaps under that location)
and it will work so double check the config file containing the text for were to tell it to point

there are problems with the database as well as a few issues with the ui itself (eg i cant loot
anything from chests and such). Also some quests are in German lol.

I was using today the Novo one. The one where you install it as an app. When i started i had
no clothes on me and i was lvl 1 Death Knight. But i had the lvl 55 armour in my backpack. And

Well I got novos to work but i didn't but not many quests in northrend. went to icecrown....no
baddies there. there were some in borean tundra but hardly any. cant even do the quests that are

Btw, if anybody is interested, Frozen Database is really good, get the SVN version and it
comes with a core (mangos and realmd). So you just import the sql files manually, set the
mangos like you would with reaper, and just play. Unfortunately, not everything in lich king is
working, especially the instances, but Death Knight is working well except for stuff like army of the
dead, and the DK starting location has almost all the quests in, other than that it's pretty stable.
Also try roadmin.net who come with their own core, they also have put in Tier 7 Hero's Gear
which is pretty cool. So until Reaper comes out with his version, these work pretty good. But
DON"T FORGET REAPER'S VERSION IS THE BEST. :)

Hmmmm... Oatman, why don't you release only the database?? I'm sure some of us could
manage without your core, and you could release the core when it's ready. But if you don't want
to then don't do it, it was only a suggestion.

so i know how to use sql. what i want to know udb ok is this the server version (i seen it
before) where you just run around and npcs have no magic and what not. Basically what i want to
try. I have 6245 running with project silvermoon dbc. anyone tried to running the the new server
wotlk with the silver moon dbc on it. i like when they use magic. and moust of the quest in release
are pritty much 90% working (6245). so i can at least force compleat quests and what not using
mysql. now what i would like to know does this mangos of the Wrath of the litch king. have all the
content in there already like NPC and QUESTS and but its just not set up in the sql data bases
and basically anyone could just add all the content them selves or is it more like a emu project
and the mangos.exe has to be edided it self so we cant try try things our selves woulden mind
trying out some thing but if its more then just changeing and sifting through the serverdata base
basically yeah saying that im not going to bother learning coded to recompile the server. LONG
STORY SHOT can we all just add everything into the server or does the mangos.exe also half to
be recompiled to allow the new content.
post addendum. adding npc like they said there not there yet there for does some dude half to
run around as gm .addnpc at this location. off to the next then manually place scripts and shit for
each indiviual spawn. herm dont mind me im just thinking too hard

You must try using Quice Tool. Its a great tool that helps you with making and editing all the
items in the world,quests, Npc's, spell, etc. I used the quice tool to make my own Mall on WoW.
Its rather much work but it kept me busy.

Awesome. NP. Just make sure you get the latest Quice tool. But the thing i like about Quice,
is that when you searching for something, You type like a Part of the name and it pops up then
what you want. It gives you all the Info on the spell,item,or even quest. Then besides that, with
that info you can change it. Its fun. I made some weapons with 2000 haste, 10000 DMG. i just ran
through BT and all the other stuff.

Ok guys, I am totally going to go back to Reaper's old way of releasing update packs, by
doing it weekly. I am going to start back with 2.4.3 and whenever MaNGOS/Trinity Releases a
(STABLE) Core and Database I will release to you guys my public version of 3.0.8. *Yes I said
3.0.8*
I would release it but after testing with FaTe its too buggy and all you guys would do is
complain about how all this certain stuff doesn't work and how the game is missing certain
content. So I am going to start the normal releases' again where you guys can update your old
release every week with new content and bug fixes. Whenever a 3.0.8 is released, I will roll that
out. Sorry if this is a disappointment, but to others of you, this is good news to have a stable and
a genuine core you can count on. :)

OK let's assume that I know absolutely nothing about how to set up a private server. I have all
the required files the wotlk rev1 release and the beta loaded on my PC. Could someone please
explain to me in detail how I go about setting it up, editing the realmd.cfg and the mangos.cfg in
detail exactly what I need to change and where in the cfg I need to do it. Then explain to me how
I use Navicat to compile it all so it works. A year ago I had a private server set up and it worked
fine and it seemed the setup was easier but this is frankly confusing me. Please please scan
anyone do this for me I would be eternaly grateful.

hay i could explain this to you but you would be better off waiting for the masters to compleat
the working version of this man. theres absoulty no content working in this realeas trust me it will
be worth the wait. have you at least installed mysql and have that working?
it should be stright froward if you got that far where you see the edit mangno.cfg or what ever
you just switch the wotlk password to likelly root root. if thats what you have set up mysql to use
as your user dont know about navicat but i use hidisql myself and you just half to use the find on
this page and search this form thread for what they said about connecting try death night its on
here and they said it as it is but like they say theres no npc no new contnet quests and stuff were
all waiting for a soon to be release. i would recomemnd you installing the trinity 2.4.3 version then
if you can get that working it will be super easy to update cause they stated that they will release
the Wotlk as a update and you wont half to compleatly start over again (what i gathered from
what i read)i would like to give you more detaled walkthru on exactaly how this is dont but i think
that it would be any point cause buy the time you get it running you half to wipe it all out and start
from scratch anyway. Dont know aslo about this version im not a server hoster or anyting and my
knolage is not that great i have a 6245 server running just so i can run aournd my self and play
with quice. a great program recommended by evok3r THAKS what a great tool. just learning how
stuff works once again JUST go for the trinity release man its your best bet. and you dont half to
edit sql to make it play stuff no deathnights but it will come soon. also i dont even think this
release has project silver moon on it so no magic attacks and what not either Boring But then
what do i know

WOTLK will be release w/ npcs and such @ 3.08 you can try the german version if you heart so

I am having trouble with my Mangosd.exe . I am unable to open the file completely. When i
open it, it closes in about .5 seconds. I have opened this many times and have seen the error
message:

OK - so i looked at some other ppls problems and i STILL cant fix it. Heres what i did:
I changed the file name to Oatmans WotLK Release #1. I pretty much just erased the
apostrophe from the file name but it didnt work for me.

OK NVM i fixed that and now my server works fine, but whenever i log on to an account, it
says i have to patch up and restart WoW. Now, this version supposedly supports revision 8788 of
the beta client, but i have revision 8874 of the real client! How do I make this work?

have you changed realmlist.wtf to your server ip? or 127.0.0.1 if you are hosting on the same
computer change both the realmlist and the patch list... you might have to get the beta client
because this revision was made for the beta.. im not sure if the maps and vmaps are the same.. if
your wanting to play wotlk content.. wait for the trinity release from oatman and colt45.. as this
revision doesnt have any mobs, npcs or spawns in northrend... the 2.4.3 server works pretty well..
you'd have to downgrade your client to 2.4.3 tho... best of luck..

@trey make sure you are using 3.0.3 8788 beta.. im not sure that it will work with anyother
release of WoW as the maps and vmaps will be diffenent.. other then that what errors are you
getting? what is hanging you up to have a working server... btw this revision basically only
implements the new gui features and northrend.. there are no spawns there as of yet... your best
bet would be to run oatmans trinity core.. for 2.4.3 as he will be patching it up to 3.0.8 and
beyond...

idk what's recent and what's old. what's revised and what's not. I started with a simple 2.4.3
but was asked Why do I want to do that version... idk, because I have the game - and I would like
to play it on my own sys. I guess. -
Now I have Wow all patched up to 3.0.9, I have TBC, and I just found WotLK... all I need now
is step 2.
