1. Why are you interested in becoming a student at the school?

I am interested in becoming a Student at iDEA because of the vast amount of classes to

choose from that are about technology. Also there opportunities here I can't get at other
high schools, for example being able to talk to real life business owners in person
without leaving the campus. And finally, I heard that core classes will be taught in
combination with other subjects allowing teachers to give real world examples to the
lesson being taught and ultimately make the lessons more interesting.

2. How is this school a “best fit” for your high school education?
I believe that school is the best fit for my high school education because I love creating
things, I see everything as a puzzle that perfectly fits together. I love to make 3d models
of my ideas. I love to bring my ideas to life, and I believe that what this school is all
about. Another reason is I think there will be more students and staff members that
understand me. I believe there will be more people that understand who I am, What I
like and How I think.
4. Choose one of the qualities you circled from above and give an
example of a time when you demonstrated this quality
One time that I have demonstrated leadership was last year during broadcasting class.
It was our first project and summative grade. It was to make a 90 second video on a
newbery award winning book. This is also the project I used for my first best work. The
other 2 people in the group were just screwing around. So I had to pick the book and
edit the video. All I asked is for them to write the script and help me record because I
refuse to do all the work. In the end the video turned out good so Im happy.
Why did you select this piece as a “best work”?
I selected this video as my first best work because it is one of the first videos I made, I
am really proud of it. It took me a lot of time and it was more difficult because the people
I was working with didn’t want to help but, I think it was really good for my first video.

What skills did you use to complete this piece?

To complete this piece I used my knowledge of adobe premiere pro to record and edit
the video. I used my leadership skills to get my group to help me and stop goofing
around. And finally I used punctuality to turn the video in on time.

What would you do next time to improve your work?

Next time I would want to use voice over instead of subtitles. I would record in a higher
quality and now that I know more about adobe premiere pro there are more effects in
transitions I would add
Why did you select this piece as a “best work”?
I selected this paper as my second best work because I worked really hard on this
paper. I had to do it because i missed a choir concert so the teacher makes you do a
report. However she assigned to me a little late so I didn't have that much time to do it
because the last day of school was coming up. I was able to get it done. I am proud of it
because I worked really hard to make sure it is completely my own wording. If you
search it in a plagiarism checker it comes back about 90% original and that is just a
coincidence because I didn't even use that source. So all in all I’m really proud of it.

What skills did you use to complete this piece?

I used my grammar skills to help me write the paper and make it make sense. I used my
researching skills to get all the information I needed to write the paper. I used
punctuality to make sure I turned it in on time. And finally I used my knowledge of
microsoft word to type the report and email it.

What would you do next time to improve your work?

Next time I would pick someone besides Katy Perry because she is boring. I would
spend more time proofreading it. I would try and find more information. And lastly I
would try not to rush myself to finish it as much.
