There are connections everywhere.

When you and someone have the same ideas or

when someone says the same thing with the other person at the same time. And sometimes
you don’t even see them, but they are still there. It’s amazing how many differences all lead to
the same explanation. Just like equal rights. Everyone is asking for different things but they are
all connected to a single purpose. They are all fighting for rights, freedom, and injustice. In
Alvarez story she wanted people to speak up and show how other people feel. She wanted the
freedom of speech. Martin Luther King wanted to know that he should be in Birmingham
because there is injustice. Roosevelt wanted to show that everyone need equal rights. No
matter how different they look or act.

Everyone needs to have the freedom of speech. In paragraph 29 she states, “If my
mother were indeed telling the truth, could I really put my work above lives of human beings?
But if I shut up, wouldn’t I still be fanning the embers of the dictatorship with its continuing power
of censorship and control over the imagination of Dominicans?” which supports the claim by
showing that if she just shuts her mouth then no change would happen. This also appeals to
logos because it’s true. If you don’t speak then no one knows anything or say anything. The
secret would stay in there. People need to speak up. Speak what is right to have justice. Alvarez
also develops the claim that speaking can make a difference. Everyone need to have a voice.
The freedom of speech.By changing fanning to disappearing you show more emotion by
showing how much it means to disappear the truth that is keeping shut.

In Martin Luther King’s letter, Letter from Birmingham Jail, shows that he needs to be in
Birmingham because injustice is there. There is no justice. No has the same rights in
Birmingham. In paragraph four says,”I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about
what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice.” This shows that he
wants to change the ways of Birmingham and injustice is harming justice or anyone. On the very
first paragraph he compliments the clergymen saying, ”But since I feel that you are men of
genuine good will and that your criticisms are sincerely set forth, I want to try to answer your
statement in what I hope will be patient and reasonable terms.” King is showing pathos because
he’s completing the clergymen so they can listen to his letter. The word injustice is important in
this whole text because it’s used for showing how the he can’t be there for his people. If he uses
any other word then it won’t give the same effect as injustice. It would feel that this won’t mean
anything.

The final article is Roosevelt's speech. In this one she tries and convince the United
Nation to adopt the Universal Declaration of Human RIghts. On paragraph five said,” It is a
significant fact that 58 states have found such a large measure of agreement in the complex
field of human rights.”This supports to everyone having equal rights because many states have
found an answer to human rights while the United Nations have not. She knows that it is hard to
agree and it does take time, but she is doing this because she wants things to change she
wants human rights to all mankind. This evidence also appeals to logos because she is using
real knowledge from how the real world works. She is also trying to convince the people to listen
to her speech. By changing the word equal to injustice because if she uses a stronger word than
people will listen and get more attracted to her problem. This also gives the meaning to show
that she is trying to fight or her rights and to everyone.

Alvarez’s wrote a book to represent the cruel dictatorship that her mom had seen to get
people’s attention. King wanted to write letter to get people’s attention from why Birmingham
has injustice and why he needs to be in Birmingham. Lastly, Roosevelt explained that she
wanted to convince the United Union by having equal rights and showing why we, the people,
need them. All of this, is connected to the same claim. They want equal rights. They all speak
up showing how there is injustice. They are all fighting for rights, freedom, and injustice. Today
in the real world, we are fighting to have their families back. People fighting over if the president
is bad at doing his job and making things unfair. While others disagree. We are fighting for
different things but for the same reason.
