Rationale: How is this lesson relevant at this time with these students? Why is it important?
How does it fit with the rest of the unit?
In this lesson, students will learn about their online presence and how they can stay safe. Students will learn
what is appropriate and inappropriate content, and what they should do if they come in contact with
inappropriate content. Students will also learn about emotions associated with appropriate and
inappropriate content, and understand why these emotions happen.
- All students use the internet at school, regardless of home life (does not discriminate against
low socio economic backgrounds).
- Do not have students log onto Chromebooks until after initial brainstorm and instruction. This
will minimize distraction.
