Hospitalization is a process that reguires the child to stay in the hospital for
treatment and treatment, both for planning reasons hospitalized. Hospitalization
will create a series of traumatic events and anxiety in uncertainty for children
and families. Anxiety of is a feeling of worry or discomfort that seems to happen
something that is perceived as a threat, and is daily experience by individuals.
This study aims to determine the factors associated with the level of anxiety
parents at the hospitalization of preschool age children at Santa Elisabeth
Hospital Medan. The research method used observational analytic design with
Cross-Sectional approach type. The study was conducted at Santa Elisabeth
Hospital Medan. Sampling technique used purposive sampling technique used
purposive sampling the technique with 63 respodents. The result shows that there
is a correlation between age and anxiety (p = 0,001), there is a correlation
between experience and anxiety (p = 0,003), there is a correlation between
knowledge and axiety (p = 0,001), there is a correlation between education and
anxiety (p = 0,026),. However, the financial/ material factors do not connect with
the worries ath the Hospital of Santa elisabth medan (p = 0,114). The result of
this study are expected to be useful for the hospital as the source of knowledge
and information to nurses to help parents in the face of anxiety at the
hospitalization of children.
