Background (in approx. 150 words or less for each question)

1. Why did you choose to attend your college/university?

I chose to attend 'The Ohio State University' because first, it is one of the top schools in the country.
Second, I felt lucky to be accepted here coming from a small community college in Cleveland.
However, at first, I was a little intimidated by the huge campus but the excitement of coming out of
the comfort zone and being a part of the larger group outweighed the former. Today, I look back at it
as one of the best decisions of my life. The city life, the hectic workload, the challenges, the diversity
made me feel connected and kept me going. Furthermore, It enabled me to gain relative coursework
and critical thinking skills to be able to apply for one of the top and well-reputed companies—i.e.,
HONDA.

2. Why did you choose your major?

I have always been in love with innovation. In elementary, I made nunchucks out of sweeper sticks,
painted them red, and sold them to my schoolmates. Today, I work on several different engineering
ideas along with some of my colleagues. I chose Civil Engineering because the idea of being able to
help build a structure always intrigued me and is such a reinforcement to be able to look at the final
result once all done. Moreover, I believed that it would enhance my critical thinking skills and
provide me with the relevant knowledge and software pertaining to engineering.

3. What current activities outside of class and work are you involved in? (i.e. Leadership,
Professional Organizations, etc.)

I perform On occasions, I lead a team of 5 in a role playing game namely, DOTA, in my leisure time. I
have previously planned and lead travels for family and friends. I am also a student member of
American Concrete Institute (ACI), a student member of American Society of Civil Engineering
(ASCE), a student member of Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio (PLSO) and Structural Engineers
Association of Ohio (SEAoO).

4. Why would you be interested in working for Honda?

As a kid I rode Honda automobiles but never did I thought one day I would be able to apply for a this
company. Honda is ever-growing in innovation which is definitely a drawing factor for me. Above all
Honda is a well known and reputed company around the globe. Coming from a humble background
my parents will be extremely happy which will be a great motivating factor for me to perform even
better.

5. What are your expectations of a co-op assignment? Short-term and long-term?

Short -term expectations: Learn new skills quickly, get as much experience as I can, and perform as
best as I can.

Long -term expectations: Gain relative experience, grow with the

company, learn about the company throughly and apply for the full time engineering position
within the company.
6. With what computer software applications do you have experience?
SOLIDWORKS: Have taken a semester long SOLIDWORKS class and then later for a different class I
designed a 3-part model of 'Seattle Space Needle'. This model was then printed out using a 3D printer
with a poster with specifications and presented in an exhibition.
AutoCAD Civil 3D: Designing Capstone final year project for a Streetcar traversing downtown and
Short North, Columbus along with 4 group mates. My part is to design the maintenance facility and
track cross sections using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
MATLAB: Designed simulation code for Falcon 9 (Space X) launching, orbiting and landing phase with
three other group mates.
Other software with high proficiency: PTC Mathcad, SkyCiv, Microsoft Office suite.

7. Do you have any outstanding job offers with a specific deadline at this time? If yes, please indicate your
deadline.
I do not have any specific deadlines for fall co-op yet. Though I am currently exploring a number of
opportunities, I feel this opportunity will not only be a great fit but the most exciting as well.

8. If Honda were to extend you an offer, when would you be available to start?

08/01/2019
