What is CBI?
An approach in which the teaching is
organized around the content.

A)Base instructional decisions on content rather than language
criteria:
- The teacher’s role.

B)Integrate skills:
- Integrate skills approach to language teaching.
- Multiple skills simultaneously.
C)Involve students actively in all phases of the learning process.

- Is learner-centered.
- Students do not depend on the teacher.

D)Choose content for its relevance to students’ lives, interests, and/or


academic goals.

-Related to the students’ needs.

E)Select authentic texts and tasks.

-Texts and tasks used in CBI come from the real world.
