JOB TITLE Demand Planning Manager

JOB OBJECTIVES
1. Drive execution of Collaborative Demand Planning process at zone
level to ensure higher service levels with least cost-to-serve
2. Facilitate generation and dynamic review of consensual sales
forecast by ensuring participation from ASMs, GSMs and all other
key stakeholders
3. Help zone achieve higher efficiency by improving forecasting
capability through analysis, continuous monitoring and providing
feedback to the stakeholders
4. Collaborate & provide continuous feedback to Supply Planning
team on dynamic changes in demand, promotion plans, trade
incentives etc. to enable change in supply plan
5. Drive S&OP process a zonal level.
6. Execute Planning Strategy
7. Continuously reduce BBD wastage across zone

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Drive Demand planning process though Sales Forecasting Tool and


ensure timely generation of sales forecast
2. Collaborate closely with cross functional stake holders to arrive at
aggregated consensus plan and understand forecast inputs
3. Do deep dive analysis on BU/brand/Category performance issues as
per S&OP requirements
4. Assess risks and opportunities to revenue plan and support
analysis on gap closure options
5. Partner with Analytics team to gain insights and do analysis
6. Support development of portfolio plans, which includes new
product launches and discontinuation of obsolete SKUs
7. Monitor in-market performance, collect business intelligence and
recommend corrective action; adjust forecasts as needed.
8. Feed in relevant promotion related details in planning tool and
ensure all local level promotions/incentives are embedded
9. Use statistical methods/tools to generate forecast data on variation
in demands vs various inputs like schemes, promos, NPD etc.
10. Identify exceptions to Demand & feedback changes into the Supply
Planning. Ensure faster response to changes in market demand.
11. Monitor & work towards improving forecast accuracy and other
related metrics for zone
12. Help Supply Planning Process by providing forecast inputs on short
and medium term horizon
13. Collaborate with Supply planning in converting unconstraint
forecast into constraint forecast

14. Provide continuous feedback to sales team on sales vs forecast and
demand signal to ensure dynamic changes in the demand plan
15. Actively contribute in deployment of new Planning Tool and
continuous tracking of users’ adaptability on the same across zone

Sales team, Business Unit Head, Commercial, Category, Finance, Trade
Marketing and Supply Planning

JOB REQUIREMENT

Minimum Education: MBA from premier institutes

Minimum Work Experience: 3-5 years of work experience in Sales/Trade Marketing/Supply


Chain/Demand Planning

Competencies/Skills/Abilities:
Business Knowledge: Commercial, Planning, Sales forecasting, Basic Operations and
Inventory planning, Basic financial analysis and Statistical analysis

Behavioral Competencies Ability to withstand pressure & Good interpersonal skills. Ability to
work effectively with others. A good executor and a team leader,
Influencing skill

Functional Competencies MBA from a reputed institute and 3-5 years of Sales / Trade
Marketing/ Supply Chain/ Demand planning experience

Key Success Criteria's: High level of analytical skills, functional competency in areas of
Demand Management, Ability to influence without power, Good
interpersonal skills, Influencing skills etc.

Language Proficiency English & Hindi

IT Knowledge: MS Office, Working knowledge in ERP (JDA or SAP) and familiarity with
demand/supply planning would be an added advantage

Travel: 20%
